I avoid nearly all 2011 wine, especially anything from SA. (I only drink red)

I guess if you are into big SA reds that is probably the best course of action. The wine press wrongly beat up the 2011 vintage in SA and there are some beautiful wines from 2011..... atypical for some regions yes, but beautifully balanced, with plenty of detail and space and certainly at lower alcohols and fruit density, great for matching with food. Writing off a vintage with a broad brush like many of the media did was silly.... good wineries will make good wines regardless of the weather conditions through the growing season. Canopy & vineyard management and fruit selection both at harvest and again when the fruit arrives at the winery the key. In saying that, there are some 2011s that should never have been released

Haven't tried the 2013 but the 2012 was very good. Big and deceptively smooth now, and will definitely cellar well. I would expect the 13s to be in the same mould. I've ordered some.

I did and I like it. Very nice savoury nose. a bit of cherry and flowers on the palate. great with food.Not pretentious, ready to drink now (2011...). Good mid week red for the price.

A bit hesitate, the A/V is 13.5% while the 2011 is 14.6%, so would only share a case with a workmate at this round.
