Vinomofo Wine Deals

Had the 2013 Fox and Hounds Shiraz last night. Decanted for a couple of hours before consumption.

Quite a whiff of alcohol on the nose. The palate was fruity and vibrant, plums in evidence as the label described (in braille too - very cool!)

An enjoyable drop, and think it has the potential to develop well.

Time to hide them in the corner of our 'dining room' (wine storage area)..

Good to hear about the H & H shiraz - I am waiting on mine - can anyone tell me how the Glen Lofty compares with McLaren Vale shiraz's - Pertaringa a favourite - I have read some good reviews of Glen Lofty here but I am not into cool client shiraz ( ie adelaide hills etc)

What about oak, and body density? Sound young but alright.

Can I just say that together with my learned friends, I am guessing two thousand years of drinking says glenlofty shiraz is fantastic and if there is one wine under eight dollars, this is unequivocally, unambigously, unquestionably unbelievably de bees knees

How did you find the 3 Oceans explorers cabernet Bee? I remember you mentioning the Chardy was good.

Just a heads up again.
In the boom sale today they are offering the Stefani Chardonnay again.
I had a 2 out of 2 failure rate and have 4 3/4 bottles waiting for pick up.
Both corks looked a bit dry (stored upright??) and the wine, IMnsHO, had oxidised to the point of being undrinkable.
Caveat Emptor...

Have you tried the cabernet AC?
the 2012 was the knockout older sister.......about 17.50
I gota case of the 2013 ..like the shiraz and cabernet..i found the 2013 sensational. I had a bot, found it had a dip at the end which I didn't like, so last sat night, went for bot number two..beautiful and mellow....
today the 3oceans rose is on.
I have four of us in a 50credit deal hoping to pick up four cases for about 160 net....
one could be the 3 oceans rose as I have asked one of the other three to get that based on pedigree.....the 3oceans shiraz was very very good

I wonder if someone is going on with the GH GMH Shiraz. Keeps disappearing and popping up with "Almost Gone" - can only assume there's been a few returns.

It's end of month runout with free shipping for those who have yet to check emails btw. Glenlofty Shiraz 2012 is all gone.

I second this thought - it's probably my least pleasant Vinomofo experience yet. I know of the return policy, but gave one away to a friend and opened a second bottle to see if my feelings about the first were correct. On the other hand, if that Great Southern WA chardy returns I'll be all over it like a rash, one of the nicest chardys I've had in a long while.

Based on your report, I've cracked open that case and popped one into the fridge. Will open sometime this week to see if mine are in the same condition.

If you know you are only likely to drink half of the 750ml bottle, keep a clean 375ml bottle handy and pour off half the 750ml first and re-seal, put it in the fridge if you want or it's very warm. A beer bottle will do at a pinch.

This technique, previously posted by JohnM is the most effective in my experience. Immediately upon opening gently pour half the wine into the small bottle (as full as possible), and reseal.

Wirra Wirra Church Block 375mL bottles are excellent for this purpose.

Hmm - interesting. Any issues using any other type of 375ml bottle? I'm thinking of the reasonably large number of desert wine bottles we discard each year - maybe it's worth keeping a few around.
