Vinomofo Wine Deals

Beefarmer - one of these has got our name written all over it for that January meet-up ...

It's not quite the Fiji gift you asked for, but hopefully it is a worthy [99 Point] substitute!

Any others want to join us in Sydney for a catch up? I will create a separate thread to avoid clogging up this Fo only thread.

Sounds good.

Maaaate, looks fantastic and what do I bring along to accompany this fine drop?
The only appropriate thing would be holy water from Lourdes........which incidentally I can get hold off, but, I am sure I will bring something decent i.s.not a Tomich Winemakers Reserve.

Around for over 10 years. Ulithorne Frux Frugis shiraz 2001 still available.
Ulithorne Wines, McLaren Vale

(Vineyard) Established 1971
From Wine Companion:
"Ulithorne produces small quantities of red wines from selected parcels ofgrapes from a vineyard in McLaren Vale planted by Rose Kentish’s fatherin-
law, Frank Harrison, over 40 years ago. Rose’s dream of making smallbatch,
high-quality wines from exceptional grapegrowing regions around
the world has taken her to France, where she has made a Vermentinu on
the island of Corsica and a Rose in Provence under the Ulithorne label. In
2013 Sam Harrison and Rose Kentish purchased an old vineyard in the
heart of McLaren Vale, with 4ha of shiraz and 3.2ha of grenache dating
back to 1945. They expect to have a winery and cellar door built on their
Kay’s Road Vineyard by late ’16."

Looks like the new Winery/CD is a bit delayed.

Just logged into FaceLess Book and see the Fo are advertising a 13 Pinot Noir from Adelaide Hills, 94 points, $13.50 down from $30 a bottle. Is this new or an existing deal that Big Brother marketing machine has just popped on my FB feed [because it knows more about me than I know about me]?

See post #4872 :)

Thanks AC. I thought it was just marketing gumph. It's scary what they know to target market you - then again, the marketing robots at FB failed to pick up our less flattering views on the recent PNs!

I doubt "they" know anything. Most of the sites that serve ads do it through the a handful of big agencies - the ads are served directly from the third party ad servers to you - not from the AFF site (or the site you're on). Likewise, cookies that track your browsing experience (including search terms in URLs) across any of the properties that the agency serves ads to. It's all automated.

Morning all.

Today's Syrah looks to be an interesting one from the early Fo email I got today:

https://vinomofo.com/wines/red-wine...173303585&mc_cid=a5cf479be4&mc_eid=27d192764c

The previous vintage seems to have done well in the shows, but scoring in the lower half of the 90s with the experts. Not sure if the 2014 will fair the same or better, as I am assuming from a quick trip to the Innocent Bystander website that the accolades VM mention relate to the 2013 vintage.

Thoughts? ...

Now this is interesting. The Brightwater Gravels New Zealand pinot 2014 on offer has a rrp of $30AUD. I found it on their own website for NZ$19.95. Since the AUD was $1.09 last night, it makes interesting calculations.

gOOD MORNING vIETNAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

how's it up there Wozza.......three weeks ago went to the Innocent Bystander with three others and tried a lot of theIR under thirty buckers. Was not impressed that much to be honest. Expected a lot better. Saying that, their Giant steps range was very nice at close to fifty. Even better twice a year when they go half price, but I missed that one in August. I found their Pinot also underwhelming at this price point. Have a good week !

All good up here, even if the weather is going a bit schiz.

Good feedback, Beefarmer. And, based on your tasting experiences - I'm Out - as they say in a Dragon's Den kind of way.

I agree - I think Innocent Bystander's "best" are Giant Steps, and the premium labels (Harrys, Mea Culpa, etc.). Their base labels are okay only (IMHO). I know blackcat20 is a massive fan of them, but I am not rushing out for this one.
