Vinomofo Wine Deals

Beefarmer - one of these has got our name written all over it for that January meet-up ...

It's not quite the Fiji gift you asked for, but hopefully it is a worthy [99 Point] substitute!

Any others want to join us in Sydney for a catch up? I will create a separate thread to avoid clogging up this Fo only thread.

How many bottles are you going to bring???

Morning all.

Today's Syrah looks to be an interesting one from the early Fo email I got today:

https://vinomofo.com/wines/red-wine...173303585&mc_cid=a5cf479be4&mc_eid=27d192764c

The previous vintage seems to have done well in the shows, but scoring in the lower half of the 90s with the experts. Not sure if the 2014 will fair the same or better, as I am assuming from a quick trip to the Innocent Bystander website that the accolades VM mention relate to the 2013 vintage.

Thoughts? ...

I agree - I think Innocent Bystander's "best" are Giant Steps, and the premium labels (Harrys, Mea Culpa, etc.). Their base labels are okay only (IMHO). I know blackcat20 is a massive fan of them, but I am not rushing out for this one.

We love the Syrah. But can be had direct from the winery 20% off with the code STOCKTOBER right now. So the VM deal is not so hot.

I'm not a "massive fan" of the base labels, but I do love the Rose and Moscato for summer. Very happy quaffing the Giant Steps Pinot at the moment...

VIMs - the Krug 03 is back (I think it was the 03 last time) AND ... the Fo have done a High Rollers Pinot Noir Pack to no doubt say - put that in your pipe and smoke it - Fo demanding Pinot Lovers ...!

Anybody going to jump on the Pinot deal?

I think I won't, even though there are some nice wines, including the PHI, Bannochburn and Giant Steps. You save $19 for the 6 Pack, but it was only last week or the week before they were selling the PHI for $38. I can't see much value here, but please correct me if I am wrong ...

I think it was either the 1998 or 2000 last time?

Regardless...interesting. If they have similar when the 2002 is released I could be all over that like a rash.

My good mate Peter says the Phi pinot is mediocre for the money. His thoughts only.

I was looking at the Clover Hill wines but can't find a perfect match. Confusingly, the VM page header says it's a 2010 but the specs state 2013.

So the Giant Squid ink is RRP $150 and Dans has it around that price so seems good value.
Is it good value at $60 ? assuming you didn't know about the $150 price tag.
