Vinomofo Wine Deals

Re: Vinomofo secret wine deals

Any ideas on todays GSM
https://vinomofo.com/wines/red-wine/mof_-secret-deal-gsm-2014-Nov0915?

I was thinking either the ekhidna...or the yangarra ?

Cheers

Haselgrove "the switch" seems a match pricewise (based on 2013) but 2014 not seen on website. No alc% match. Still looking.

RussM is on the money - 2014 Haselgrove "the switch" GSM, I believe it has just been reviewed that is why its not on JH website.

Drank the Mt Avoca Cab Merlot tonight. Chocolaty AF; delicious though. I would leave it for 5ish, to let the tannins abate.

(Areated twice into a decanter then drank with the SO over 4 ish hours)

Part of the Ace Case I think. Wish I drank it earlier so I could pick up a case of it.

my first mof_ purchase was the last glenlofty shiraz 2012 which was 9.90 a bottle if i remember correctly. was a black market deal mid august. if this is glenlofty i would jump i absolutely loved the 2012!

I think it might be the 2014 Mt Avoca Back Block Shiraz.
Description and alcohol seems right, price is $35 on the website though

Glenlofty's always been about the $7.50 (down from $27 I think) when I've bought it -both the shiraz and the shiraz viognier...

my mistake you are correct dave. looking at order confirmation on how much i paid it would have been about 7.50. man i wish i had another carton of that.

I've still got a case of the shiraz 2012, but wish I had the 2011. That was a cracker. The Warramate 2013 shiraz from the Yarra is pretty similiar in terms of awesome, but is $15 a bottle... so not quite the same bargain level!

I know the glenlofty 11 and 12 shiraz are better than good, plus the sv was good, but I thought the recent fox Gordon brothers and sisters 2014 cabernet was better......serious bargains still exist.

I was wondering that too. I contacted my broker and its not....shame. My other thought was that it's the Mount Avoca Estate.

Thanks for confirming mate. agree shame its not the glenlofty but good for bank balance and liver. im poised waiting to pounce when the next one comes up!

Cabernet, Coonawarra and 2012 gets my attention. Can't say I have ever tried any Tretham Estate. Anyone here have any experience with this winery?

My Tretham Estate Cabernet arrived yesterday. I had an initial tasting tonight. Here are my tasting notes.

Trentham Estate 2012 Family Reserve Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon

A classy, well composed medium-bodied cabernet that is full of that quintessential Coonawarra flavour. Aromas of mint, black current and plumb and mouthfuls of perfectly ripened fruit. Cool mint on the front of the palette, building to complex chocolaty fruit flavours on the mid-palette, and a nicely rounded finish on the back palette.

A well structured wine with finely integrated tannins and a subtle touch of oak, wrapped in that friendly glove of cassis fruit. Nice balance and complexity, with a decent length of finish.

A very accessible wine. It is drinking very nicely now and should develop over the coming years.
