Vinomofo Wine Deals

Fair enough.

To be honest, I doubt you're going to get 6x Barolo at $300. Most are in the $80+ mark in Australia, and anything decent is well over $100/bot. Barbarescos a bit cheaper, and decent Langhe's at the $50 mark. I guess this lets you try a 2011 now, and the same bottle in 10 years time, and see how it changes, as this seems to be made in the more traditional Barolo style.

I guess VM has a no-questions-asked return policy, so you can always return the box in case the contents aren't what you want.

I ended up going elsewhere and got 12 really good Langhe Nebbiolo (6 pak x 2) from the fantastic 2015 vintage for $365 delivered (approx $30 p.b) both with Winefront scores of 93 and 93+, so happy with that. Not sure about Vinomofo provenance on vintages going back 10 years and under cork (that was a factor).

What did you end up getting (and from where)?

The VM deal was direct from winery, according to VM. Obviously there is still the issue of cork, but I guess that'll affect just about any Italian wine.

I'm new to Vinomofo and this Forum (first post today) so not sure if I should be discussing non Vinomofo deals in this thread but I'll just plead ignorance.

Benevelli Piero Langhe Nebbiolo 2015 $28.90 x 6
Alessandro e Gian Natale Fantino Rosso Dei Dardi 2015 $31.90 x 6
+Free Freight

I have had the Benevelli before both 2014 and 2015 vintages and am very impressed with the value for money. The Dardi is a new one for me but the Winefront 93 is a trustworthy review I think.

Better off posting here: Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Including any links to where the wines are available.

Has anyone tried any of the following:

Allegiance 2016 Clare Riesling
Atlas 2016 Clare Riesling
The Doctors 2016 Marlborough Rose

Opinions most welcome.

For competitive purposes, I've recently enjoyed the Leo Buring 2016 Clare Riesling (Dry) which I picked for $13 a bottle delivered. I've also previously enjoyed The Doctors Riesling.

Got the 2015 Atlas Riesling and found it overripe and banana-estery. OK for a while but finding it tired now. And here's the rub - it came with white capping while the same wine in the shops came with copper coloured capping. Hmmm - made for VM?

I have a WBC card and no offer here.

I just go a 20 month 0% BT offer (e.g. useless).

Don't know what this Black Market Heathcote red is today but Tony Keys would be spewing if he read what VM did to his review: “There is a mineral hint to Heathcote shiraz that follows the fruit in a harmonies way, there is a lightness to the wine which in no way means its week, it also worked well at the table.”

Doesn't sound appealing! It appears there may be two Atlas Rieslings available in the market - one Watervale and one Clare. Perhaps one is made for VM

3) is Claymore Bittersweet Symphony I believe.

Edit: stubacca beat me to it. Anyway I will add that it isn't bad at that price (and is definitely a better price than I've seen it for elsewhere) if you like malbec, which is actually a pretty big player in the flavour profile, or so was my impression.
