Vinomofo Wine Deals

pref acj 17 vs 18? got a doz 17
..... hindsight half doz both vintage would've been better.
guess asking worth getting 18?
They are different wines if you look at the difference in blends between 2017 and 2018.

I only tried 2017 however a friend tried both and said that both were terrific with 2018 being more like an excellent McLaren Cab Sav.

18 is also a better vintage for Mclaren.

I don't think the change in grapes is a bad thing - they might just be more confident in the cs of that year to not have to mix it with other varieties

I've had the 07s, 08s and 09s of both cab and shiraz and all have been lovely wines for my palate. Have ordered a case of this, will report back later in the week
So the Umamu Estate Ann's CS 11 arrived, so I gave one a try. Quite disjointed to start and a bit sweet fruited upfront, almost cassis-like. Needed a good decant and time to come together. Ended up being much more savoury and balanced. Would be disappointed at $60, can live with $30, but I feel that the previous standard estate wines they had here were better value.

With the vinomofo ebay 20% discount, porque no los dos? Both great buys at about 28 and 32 a bottle respectively

I've drunk one of the matrix and bought more but not tried acj yet
Both are excellent at this price point - I’m onto my second carton of both.

Just got the email re 2017 Pirramimma Heritage Shiraz is available

I didn’t like 2016, can’t see why 2017 would be better. YMMV but you have been warned!
I enjoyed it, my brother and a friend. Both asked me to order more for them.

Multiple people here, I counted at least 4-5 enjoyed it too.

I haven't seen anyone else say otherwise. You may be the odd one out that doesn't take a liking to it.

I'm ordering ACJ, but I may order the '17 simply because my brother wants 6, and my friend wants 2-4. I'll only end up keeping 2. I think on eBay, it comes down to $12-13 a bottle which is pretty cheap.(Can't find it on eBay, but thought it was there)

I actually didn’t like the heritage shiraz 2016 either, but I thought I was the only one. Too much vanilla for my liking. It tasted to me like someone had added vanilla essense to it. I have kept it hoping it might get better.
I have also bought some ACJ 2018 to try. I didn’t think the 2017 was still available.

You certainly weren’t the only one. To me it lacked the complexity and body and was a mediocre boring wine.

2017 vintage was cooler and I found quite a few McLaren Vale shiraz to be too lean for my taste. However 2017 ACJ blend was a stand out for me. Pure magic. I think 2018 ACJ would be very good too from the reports that I hear.

Yeah, I liked the Heritage 2016 at the price, but thought it was a bit restrained. The vanilla description is apt I think. I have some ACJ that I haven’t tried yet, and decided the 2017 Heritage Cabernet would probably be worth $12.50 as a quaffer.

The 2016 was sold out before it even hit the website I believe, my broker found me a carton.
It literally sold out from the pre-arrival email, which I think is a good indication that it's a solid wine for the price.

The beautiful thing about this forum, is that you will see different people's opinions on different wines.
Vinomofo has a pretty awesome return policy, incase you don't enjoy any wine. :)
