My points and credits came through about two days after my second statement (by which time I had spent $7,500), didn't have to chase them. Was the least painful part of the whole experience!

Exactly the same for me!

Card has arrived, been activated and verbally confirmed by the call centre that the offer attached to the card is for 50,000 points and 200SC :D
Now the fun begins to see if that's true ;)

Just confirmed with call centre, that:

I qualified for the 50,000 points and 200SC promotion ; and
That I had spent the required minimum on eligible expenditure.

Now, the wait begins, to see how long, if at all the points and SC's post. Some encouraging quick posts acknowledged here.

...BTW, my partner, whose application was lodged the same day as mine, is still waiting for approval! We have lost count of the phone calls, emails, faxes etc.
Add another l..o..n..g telephone call from SO to VM today and a request for another list of documents previously unrequested. Unfortunately, he didn't check with me before calling, so I had not given him the advice about canceling and the improved prospects that seem to result!
Will update when - if - something ever emerges from the mire.

Spent the required 7.5K on VM Card - statement dated 16/02/2012 shows 50K bonus pts - checked Velocity account and 200 status credits also posted.

Yes guys I know VM / Citi are a pain in the cough to deal with - but benefits are well worth the effort and persistence IMHO.

I have redeemed MEL-LAX / LAX-MEL Sep this year on VA - 188,000pts + about $650 or so in charges. 50K bonus VP's = 26.59% of next MEL-LAX redemption - VA and BF's both showing VA MEL-LAX ret 7K+ - simple calculation just what the 26% of that equates to in value.

PLUS the 200 status credits PLUS the 4 x 2 4 1 domestic flights - for $249 this card is a steal IMHO - and well worth the short term pain you might endure to get your name on one of this cards.

Nice to hear the the credits and points are going to Velocity quickly, now lets see the other 500 or so partners get their act together, ping Hertz especially!

The 2 for 1 flight offer is good value. Saved around $160 on one way flights CNS/MEL.

Well done! Eleven out of ten for persistence.
Now the quest for DJ requal!

Points/SC's come through very quick.

Still haven't received a statement and have asked for it many times.

Bonus points and SC's posted today.

About to use the first of my 2 four 1 vouchers.

A hassle to get the card, although my "journey" was not as fraught as others! So far, I am happy with the benefits. My 2fer flight will requalify me for Platinum. All good.

Good outcome for you!
And if you are about to requalify, you must have been doing a fair amount of DJ travel, too.

Am in a quandry now; my QF year does not start until May and I do not want to "waste" SC's to be wiped. MY DJ year starts in September.

OT, I know and a first world problem!

Yes, dreadful problem to have, isn't it. My DJ year is also September, and for QF it's August. Haven't got my head around the strategy either. QF is almost a done deal already for requal but DJ not. However, most of my travel is o/s, particularly Europe-focussed, so there are numerous factors to bring into play.
When you figure out your tactics, let us know.

I think I am going to fall short on the expenditure requirement (partly because of the lengthy process in getting the card meant that it got approved just as I was leaving the country, and I didn't get to put a pile of holiday expenses on it).

Darn it.

That's a shame...I'm paying my tax bill from 2011/2 using mine and +1s Virgin card. Easily covers the 7.5k needed on each card. Plenty of tax still to be paid so if you need ideas...

I have a month to go, and looking about 1.5K short. Maybe 2K. Having a look at what I can do....

(My first month only had a few hundred on it. Oh well....)
You could buy Coles gift cards / Wish gift cards etc for subsequent grocery shopping to quickly make up the balance needed...another idea if you don't like the one above:idea:
