Getting the card was easy.

I still haven't received a statement yet.

And i got it in early December.

I have asked for a statement at least 3 or 4 times but still not received.

I got a phone call about 2 weeks after I got the card saying you haven't made your monthly payment.

WTF was my response.

They post me all of there other stuff but can not get a statement out.

I get my statements from the online banking site. Setting that up is an exercise in itself!

Well done for your persistence, Princess Fiona!!.....To be honest, I reached the point where I couldn't care less about the points given the frustrations in dealing with them. Having said that, the 200 SCs from the card (+ another 200 SCs from my +1s card approved months ago without verifying her income!), and another 300 SCs (flying on MH in July with all 5 family members pooling their pts and Scs to me) would get me very close to requlifying for DJ Plat!:lol:

Sounds a bit like me, if the card thing works out I plan to take the family on our annual NZ ski trip on Air New Zealand and pool SC= Plat re -equal.
Currently trying to persuade Shrek that he needs to forgo the QF Flounge for the trip ;)

I was having a chat with my son last night and told him of my dreadful experience trying to get one of these cards. He is a V Australia pilot (2nd officer) on a B777. Like all young pilots who have survived the traumas of GA and then regional airlines to get where they are, he has a small debt and little in the way of assets but his income with allowances would be approximately 3 x the minimum needed for a PC. He only wanted the basic card. I was quite surprised when he informed me that he also had been rejected by them, no reason given. Maybe they know something we don't and VA is going to go down the gurgler!!!!!!

Being rejected sounds like you are more than likely in very good financial standing, based on the "rejects" here!

I've just changed my settings to require a mailed statement, also, as there seems to be no alert system for a due date for payment with the online statement. I was hit with an overdue fee, without having been given a due date notification. Did not want to set up the Direct Debit payment before monitoring the process for a while - given all the twists and turns of the approval and registration system. Will see how it goes over the next few weeks.
Are your settings showing mailed statement or online?

I asked for an email statement from the off. Each month I get an email to tell me the statement is ready and wants me to look at it. ;)

That seems to work well, and is the day after the statement actually issues.

Not sure why you didn't get an email to tell you the statement was ready?

Nor do I know. Just a continuation of the VM saga? Some have sailed through but, according to all the disgruntled reports, those of us who hit one road bump have gone on to hit every pothole on the road.

BTW, my partner, whose application was lodged the same day as mine, is still waiting for approval! We have lost count of the phone calls, emails, faxes etc.

The whole process starts out sounding like its thorough, ends up bizarre with repeated requests for the same information, and it seems you only get progress when you give up and tell them off!

It now seems I am lucky the rest of it has happened smoothly (notwithstanding the complex process to actually get web access).

OK...my bright red Virgin Money credit card arrived today:oops:. Calling up to activate it was painless enough:p; now waiting for all the PIN no's to arrive to set up internet banking before I start my 7.5K spend...

I think there are many of us who would echo your views. But let's keep the 200SCs in mind?
And don't forget the 50,000 FREE Vel pts - but the big bonus in this card is the 4 x 2 4 1 flts.

Cruiserette already had a Virgin Flier Card prior to this offer - we bought 2 x ret PE flts MEL-BNE-VLI - Cost without VFC $3.1K - with VFC $1.7K.

4 times similar usage = huge savings - maybe 4 x 2 4 1 J flts MEL-PER - that could be close to $10K savings.

Now I don't know about you guys by I can take a fair bit of jerking around by VM to secure that type of financial advantage.

I like your style - and I think you've set the benchmark for us all.

So congrats to kpc for "keeping on keeping on" and to CE for showing us how to work the system, once we have recovered from he stress.

Just read through the thread .... relieved to hear I'm not the only one who's had a tough time getting the card.

I applied on Dec 28. They started calling in early January wanting to know where the documents were. Every business day. And each time I explain that I am on holidays and cannot fax anything until Jan 9.

I send the fax on Jan 9. A few days later they call again. They can't accept screen shots of term deposit account; I must supply faxed original paper statements. I explain that I'll fax them just as soon as the bank sends me the paper statements. They call each business day for two weeks. Each time I explained that I am waiting for the bank to send statements. On Jan 21, they tell my application is hold until I fax the documents and call them to reactive the application. Fine.

I send the fax on Jan 23. I call immediately. Fax hasn't arrived, it takes a few hours for the fax to 'upload on the system'. They assure me as soon as the fax arrives, they'll restart the application.

Two weeks later, no news, so I call. No, they didn't receive the fax. I asked why they didn't call me to let me know, since I had called them and they had promised to reactivate. Apparently this is now my fault because I didn't call them to check that they got the fax. I make it clear I.AM.NOT.HAPPY

I refax the documents. I call. I wait five hours and call again. Documents aren't on the system. They say faxes take 2-3 hours to upload. I tell them it's been 5 hours.
I wait another hour. No documents. They can't tell me what's happening.

Next day, I try again. Fax, wait three hours, call. No documents. Call again at five hours. Documents have appeared. Can't reactive the application until after the call ends. :?: I ask them to have a supervisor call once the application is restarted because I'm not impressed with their process. No call.

Last week: Three calls. First is to verify my name. WTF?! Second is: Can we change your stated income to $35 000? Again, WTF? No, you can't. My income is clearly more than that based on the statements I've provided. Third call: Can we change your income to $50 000? No. $25 000? No. $40 000? :?:
Seriously? Do not change what I declared on the application form.

Worst.customer.service.ever

One funny story though: one time I called, the poor lady answered and mumbled another company name, then 'sorry, Virgin Money.'

VLI?

The T&Cs for the 2 4 1 flights say domestic flights only? Or was your saving only on the domestic sectors?

That's very observant on your behalf bcworld - yes appears you are correct re T & C's.

I have no answer on that one - Cruiserette has had her Visa Plat Virgin Flyer card for 1 year now - we booked these flts early Nov - I assumed it was 2 4 1 for PE on dom and inter sectors.

Just spent 20mins on phone to Virgin seeking pricing MEL-BNE-VLI-BNE-MEL Dec 26 2012 / Jan 02 2013 - agent quoted me $3,161 as per web site in PE.

Said I want to use my Virgin Flyer Card 2 4 1 offer - he said wait I think can only purchase Dom. Not correct I said - last Dec Cruiserette used her card to secure 2 tix on 2 4 1 basis at total cost approx $1,750 - why can't I do same?

On hold for 10 mins - agent came back and said YES I checked your booking and see that you did get 2 tix on 2 4 1 basis but only explanation I can offer is that transaction was handled by new or inexperienced agent and indeed it was MISTAKE - I cannot offer you these flts on 2 4 1 basis besause 2 4 1 fares are for Dom travel only.

Just tried to log in to Virgin Money, and for some reason I am blocked. Upon phone call they said I have never been registered, although have been accessing my account through the web for the last couple of months. Ho Hum, I need to wait for the letters to come out again. I checked that I have spent $7,500 through the last couple of months, I was told I would be credited with the statement on the third month. Is that how it worked for the folks out there that have had you 100 SC and 50,000 points credited? Thanks

For me (and others) the points and SCs have posted a day or so after the statement is issued where you hit the $7500 of spending.

I was given the same information: That is, points and SCs to be credited after the three month period. It took lots of persistence but I did eventually have that overturned and the credits went through on the basis of my first month's statement.

There have been several other posts reporting that their credits went through immediately, also, so don't give up.
