My card arrived today. I applied on the evening of the 22nd November, and sent my ID documents off on the morning of the 23rd. It was approved the 24th, printed 25th and arrived today. That's a pretty quick turn around I thought.

The card itself is disappointing. First, no Paywave! That's disappointing. It's matt black, and even my clean hands leave fingerprints (like a on a stainless steel fridge or that type of thing).

The credit limit is pretty impressive - the largest I've ever received as a 'first offer' from a bank.
Here's to the first $7500 spend in 3 months - but I'll try to space it as $2500 each month for the next three months, so I get the most points as I only joined the "Flyer" card - 1500 points per month 1 point/$1 then 1 point /$2 after that.

I assume you mean you applied on November 22, otherwise that's an awfully slow turn around!

btw, just picking at detail, 1st three months is the first three bills? or three months from the time it is approved/sent whichever?

and also, how do you actually get the free seat? is it booking two seats for 1/2 the price or getting one seat first, then find out if you can get a second seat free?

I applied in the same time frame (nov 22) and mine arrived today too..

I applied for this card on Tuesday last week. By Wed they were at me several times a day to get extra info. When I was finally able I send what they asked for (Fri morning) and have heard nothing since.
Not sure if that is good or bad news.

Exactly ditto so I rang just then and they said my application is being reviewed by the credit officer and a decison will be made within 2-3 business days.... Oh dear....

It seems that nothing has changed.

I still have conditional approval.

I didn't get the email, but managed to get to the link to the offer for velocity platinum.

The T&C do say "Promotion open to new customers only, and those who are the initial recipient of this email only."

Just wondering if anyone has successfully applied via the link who did not receive the email?

Received email stating I was provisionally approved - Citi wanted to see last 2 Tax returns - which they had with original package I sent in.

Then got phone call saying I was provisionally approved just needed to contact Accountant to verify Income.

Have been in China last 5 days - guys at work said received 1 call from Citi - they will call me again pm 30th.

Will report when I know more.

I'm a red member and successfully applied through the platinum link, however until I receive my card in the mail I won't know for sure whether I have the status credits and points as well. Will let you know.

I wondered this too. The on-line application which links from the platinum email appears to be exactly the same address as one linked directly from the Velocity Visa site. All it mentions in terms of offers is the low APR for balance transfers. I realised at the weekend that I had my Velocity account set to no emails from anyone ( not even velocity !!) so have changed this and enquired via a PM if more emails are forthcoming.
The pessimist in me thinks not and I don't want another visa unless it comes with the boni

Just had a similar conversation, they called me to ask information that was already supplied on the application and on the docs I sent in. Can only assume they don't read what they get sent. :-|

I didn't get the email but I am velocity platinum and can access the 50k points / 200SC offer via this link

I just used the link from the email of offer to velocity Golds that was posted earlier in this thread, and substituted "50platinum" for "50gold".

But the T&C are pretty clear - it is a matter of whether they really can or do police them.

Me neither!

I just spotted a point of difference between the two application pages, the one lifted directly from the velocity website has 0% on balance transfers whereas the one from the Platinum link has 2.9% on the balance transfers so perhaps it is a different application ??? Fingers crossed ;)

I got mine in the mail today.

I got a call about a week ago advising they are contacting my accountant and have i advised him that they would be contacting.

I nearly have the $7500 spent by tomorrow after noon all will be good and will have the bonus.

Going to pay all end of month bills on it.

I'd be interested to hear from people that sign up for this offer.
I got a Virgin High Flyer credit card purely to earn Velocity Rewards points a few months ago.

It took about 3 weeks after numerous phone calls from them (essentiall citibank) and me to chase the application, and they asked me how much credit limit I wanted (apparently they allow up to $30,000 pm credit limit), I asked for $25,000 ... and they only gave me $9,000 per month. the worst thing is you can't ask for an increased credit limit within 9 months of initial application. Obviously everyone's financial situation is different but on a high income (over $900,000 p.a) - I don't know if it's done intentionally - but $9,000 limit for a platinum card is pretty conservative.
