Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

Here is the duck I had from Per-Syd today. Bloody wonderful. Sorry I took a bite before I thought of taking the photo! The salmon also looks very nice.

Anyone?

They were actually quite OK and a big improvement on last week's croissant.
The icing on the carrot cake is divine :)
The service was very polished and I even forgot I was on an E190

This is today's snack from MEL-NTL

Bacon quiche.
It was a significant step up from last weeks croissant.
No digi-players offered but service otherwise good on 737-800.
Shrek and I were again the only 2 passengers in J.
I have my doubts that DJ will be able to make J a long term option on this route, even although it's quite acceptable :(

On my MEL-BNE flight today in J for breakfast I chose the bacon/mushroom/filo wrap with oven roasted tomatoes, plus the fruit plate. It was delicious and all that was needed.
Digi player offered, but read the paper instead.
The service was outstanding with water topped up and queries whether I required anything else on a regular basis
A most enjoyable flight

I hope no-one has posted a J experience on a red eye flight! lol
This a Melbourne-Darwin 1AM Departure and Arrive around 4.30AM. I was heading to East Timor on an 5.45AM flight so it was rush rush rush.
Started with beer and WARM nuts, followed by creamy corn soup, chocolate cream profiteroles and banana bread.
Then 40minutes before landing, offered breakie and i chose fruit salad, which was accompanied with orange poppyseed muffin and coffee (not from the expresso machine like on the coast-to-coast service).
The service was great, the dedicated cabin manager was exemplary and I felt bad because he kept asking whether I needed anything and I just wanted to sleep, so I guess that didn't leave him with many things to do lol.
Here are the pics.

And just a few pics of East Timor. the airport is really really close to the sea, not much room for error lol.

Seems like the J catering issues (especially lack of breakfast) are being sorted out by Virgin. You can see a definite improvement in variety and quality from the start of this thread to now...

Quality and range seems to be improving across the board.
I'm still a sucker for the banana bread though :)

DRW-MEL J class last week and dinner was dry pasta smothered in olives. Nasty. IMHO Virgin has a way to go on finessing the Business catering in terms of food and how it is served.

This is meant to apply

"On flights over 3 hours guests can indulge in a full, three-course dining experience for lunch and dinner"

And another great and different breakfast on SYD-BNE... good variety

Ham and cheese on top of potato rosti, side of mushrooms.

First flight on a B737 BSI. Really like the size of the bins, although all these little Virgin bags were in the larger row 2 bins, crew gear should go in row 1.

28May BNE-SYD Dep 12:00, Lunch Service; Chicken/Coq au vin and Meringue "cake" (really tasty)
plus great professional friendly service from the crew
