Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

I forgot to mention she ended up speaking to row 3 for over 5min after telling us there wasn't enough time for a PDB...

There certainly will be feedback provided, new J which was great but the service was certainly a let down.

1850 seated.
1929 seatbelt sign off
1944 order taken
1946 first drink served.
All I got was a ‘sorry we didn’t meet your expectations, the incident has been passed to the relevant cabin crew management’. Nothing else.

Sneak peek at a few dishes
Roasted soy caramel chicken with spicy potatoes and broccoli

Pumpkin and sage pasta with chilli and pepita crunch - optional with chorizo

Kung Pao chicken and aged rice

Asian herbed salad with nuoc mam - optional with chicken

Scrambled eggs with hash brown, beans and sauteed mushrooms
Is there a spaghetti bolognese dish too? Overheard the CSM telling row 1 this but didn't offer it to us in row 2.

No spag Bol. Were you flying over a lunch window?
Could have been the slow cooked beef ragu pasta.

Drop the S. we don't get paid as much hence why the CM for us 😜

VA878, scheduled 1830 SYD-MEL, she mentioned to row 1 there is 2 pasta dishes and Spag Bol was definitely one she said to them.

Sounds interesting and, like others, I'll be watching this thread the next few days to see what menu options people are posting about. I made sure to enjoy my TGCC this afternoon since it could (should!) be the last time I see it for a while.
Had the TGCC last Sat on SYD-HBA, was really nice. Return HBA-SYD yesterday 15 Nov had a new one, lamb rissole, which was not very nice, not much flavour and over-minced so there was no texture (like a frankfurt). Good service though.

Dinner last night MEL-SYD, choice between miso-glazed eggplant with wild barley, or a (deconstructed) chicken shawarma.

The eggplant came with mushroom and pickled cabbage. not a huge hit i’m afraid. Couple of mushy bits of eggplant and overall bland. As in… no taste. And salt didn’t really go with the miso.

Mentioned this to the CM while waiting to disembark, the other pax who’d had the chicken said it was ‘amazing’.

Late departure due to late inbound, full PDB service offered.

VA734 OOL-MEL today had the beef ragu or the pumpkin and sage pasta with chorizo optional. I went with the chorizo and it was actually really quite good. And not a heart chocolate in sight - it was a BSKT square of Davidson Plum chocolate instead which was lovely.

Flew VA336 BNE-MEL yesterday (23/11) and the experience overall was very good.

Dining options were Kung Pao Chicken or the Yellow Veg Curry. I opted for the chicken, not bad, a little bit of spice, but a bit salty. Would have like to have tried both but my (junior) travelling companion slept through dinner service - I think I might have liked the curry better.

CM Sarah looked after us well, PDBs offered despite a delay (though no sparkling water until after take-off, just still, is that normal? - didn't worry me as I took the sparkling wine) and regular top ups offered throughout, and service overall was very prompt and courteous.

We don't offer sparkling water for PDD. Some may get you one if you ask nicely depending on their mood and what kind of flight pattern they are on that day.

Is there a reason why?

That reads to me "we don't do it because the guidelines say so"
I was wondering if there was something like "the release of CO2 bubbles at ground level interrupts the aircraft's tail rudder" :)
(jokes)

Had the beef brisket and rice on a late arvo SYD-MEL flight. Only criticism is that it could have had a bit more beef (mine seemed to be half mushroom) . Other than that, a fantastic meal and I'd say it is miles ahead of QF business catering!

Crew especially attentive as well with PDB and tops ups offered several times. Will report back on my return flight tomorrow too.

Oh! they’re the same mushrooms in the miso-glazed eggplant dish!

you still got the chocolate heart, exMEL seems to have gone to little squares of chocolate. :(
