Va886 (28 November 2018, the 1930 hours SYD down to MEL that took off at 2208 with B738 VH-YFU) should arrive at 2320, 135 late.

Luckily it seems today most flights are leaving as scheduled

Also on Thursday 29 November 2018, VA319, the 0900 hours MEL up to BNE (B738 VH-YFQ) did not depart until 1011 hours. Arrival is likely to become 1101 hours, 52 minutes tardy.

The CBR down to MEL VA256 has VH-YFV and should arrive at 1030, 35 minutes late as like many other flights, it was held above Mt Buller (Vic).

VA1519, the 29 November 0955 hours SYD - TSV (B738 VH-VOM) took off at 1057, so suggested arrival has become 1224, 44 late.

The MQL - MEL VA1614 (B738 VH-VOQ) on Thursday 29 November is arriving at 1301 hours, 36 minutes tardy.

VA841 (1200 high noon MEL - SYD, B738 VH-YVC) took off at 1301, so arrival is forecast for 1408 hours, 43 late while not far behind is the MEL - CBR VA269 (VH-VOL) that should be at its arrival gate at 1411, so fairly similar at 31 minutes behind the timetable.

VH-YFH on VA1593, the 1215 hours lunchtime MEl up to NTL did not take off until 1324. Anticipated arrival is 1445 this afternoon, an hour late.

In more on 29 November 2018, VA466, the long BNE - PER flight (1255 hours, B738 VH-YWE) took off at 1325. Arrival should be at 1654, 34 late.

VA334 (B738 VH-VON, the 1455 hours BNE down to MEL that took off at 1546( looks to be arriving at 1853, 38 minutes late although despite the benign weather, there is some holding occurring en route for other flights.

B738 VH-VUF on VA882 (1900 hours SYD down to MEL) had not taken off by 1957, so will be at least half an hour late post its timetabled 2035 hours arrival.

VH-YIF on VA981 (190 hours SYD - BNE) is behind the scheduled 1930 hours departure, with 981 an estimated 45 late.

VA569, the 1900 hours early evening SYD to PER has comfortable and popular A332 VH-XFE. It took off at 2002 so arrival should be at around the 2155 hours mark, 50 late.

VA869, the Friday 30 November 2018 scheduled 1715 hours from MEL to SYD took off at 1756 with B738 VH-VUG. Arrival should be at 1910, half an hour late.

VA808 (Saturday 1 December 2018, the 0700 hours early morning SYD down to MEL) had not taken off by 0819 so will be at least 50 minutes late. Aircraft is B738 VH-YFK.

UPDATE: This flight was airborne at 0929 so MEL arrival is estimated at 1044, 129 minutes behind schedule. The aircraft was not changed, so was there a problem with it, or some problem at the SYD terminal?

VA714 on Sunday 2 December, the 0800 hours morning PER across to ADL (F100 VH-FNJ) took off at 0856 so arrival at 1417 will be 57 late.

VA641 (1005 hours CBR short hop to SYD that took off at 1153) had ATR72 VH-VPI and arrived at 1248 hours, 103 late. Quicker to drive or take the train depending on one's origin and destination.

As at 1240 hours, most aircraft seem to be using runway 25 in Sydney so if that continues, delays are likely this afternoon as the Sunday peak comes upon us.

VA841, the 1200 'high noon' MEL - SYD that took off on time at 1212 hours (B738 VH-VOQ) appears to have had a missed approach on runway 25 at about 1324 in Sydney. The at gate arrival for this flight should be 1325 so it will now be slightly delayed.

AviatorInsight, across the totality of airlines these would occur several times a day on average in Oz and are nothing much to worry about despite passenger perceptions to the contrary - all part and parcel of aviation?

The ABX - SYD VA1141 has ATR72 VH-FVZ and is arriving at 1348 hours, 128 late.

VA846 (1400 hours SYD down to MEL with B738 VH-VUC) was finally airborne at 1459 so it should arrive at about 1610, 35 late.

1940 VA243 MEL-ADL delayed with an expected departure now of 2116

2040 VA249 MEL-ADL delayed with an expected departure of 2110

2100 VA357 MEL-BNE delayed with an expected departure of 2235

By 1735 on Sunday 2 December 2018, SYD had reverted to using the north south runways so that may mitigate delays. Too late, though, for anyone on cancelled flights.

One I missed earlier - apologies - was that VA1593, the 1215 hours lunchtime MEL to NTL diverted to SYD. Aircraft was B738 VH-YFI. As at 1745 hours it was still in Sydney.

VA1265, the 1600 hours midafternoon BNE up to EMD (F70 VH-NKQ) took off at 1657 so will be at least half an hour behind schedule arriving.

VA661 (1705 hours late afternoon CBR - SYD) was in the sky at 1810. B738 VH-VUK should arrive at 1844, 44 late.

UPDATE: VA1593 (the same aircraft still) took off from SYD at 1821 hours.

VH-VUZ seems to be having some delays. Initially VA556 PER-SYD 10 35 service did not depart until 12 43, 128 late, landed at 19 53, 123 tardy. This has affected VA878 SYD-MEL 18 30 service which is now with a revised departure of 20 29, 119 behind schedule. This will also impaact VA357 the 21 00 MEL-BNE service, with an estimated departure of 22 35.

Also on 2 December 2018, VA291, the 2005 hours MEL up to CBR took off at 2112 with ATR72 VH-FVR. Arrival is therefore 2218 hours, 43 late.

The CBR to ADL VA551 (VH-VOP), the 1850 hours, did not take off until 2131 so arrival is predicted as 2239, 154 late.

B738 VH-VUY on the 2050 hours BNE across to PER, VA474, took off atv 2124. Expected arrival is 0056 on Monday 3, 41 late.

VA551 (Monday 3 December, the 0715 hours SYD across to PER with comfortable A332 VH-XFH that was airborne at 0819) should arrive at 1005, 45 minutes tardy.

Also continuing today, VA302 BNE-MEL (VH-VUZ) 5 00 service departed until 6 20, 80 behind schedule, schedule arrival is 9 25, 65 late.

VA204 ADL-MEL (VH-VOP) 6 05 service did not take off until 7 57, 112 tardy. Arrival is expected at 9 27, 92 behind schedule.

VA702 BNE-HBA 8 30 service (VH-VUU) has a tentative departure time of 9 17, 47 min behind original schedule. This has pushed back VA705's departure as well, now with a revised departure of 13 45, 40 tardy.

VA1187 SYD-PQQ (VH-FVZ) 8 40 service is delayed until 11 46, a very 186 min late.

VA816 SYD-MEL 8 00 service was cancelled.
