B738 VH-YFW on VA336, the BNE - MEL Sunday 9 December flight is arriving at 2004 hours, 49 minutes behind schedule.

VA470 (1740 hours late afternoon BNE across to PER operated by the very welcome A332 VH-XFD) took off at 1846. Estimated arrival is 2200 tonight, 55 late.

Monday 10th of Dec sees VA632 SYD-CBR 8 05 service depart until 9 44, arrival is suggested at 10 30, 85 tardy (VH-FVZ).
VA555 SYD-PER 9 35 service (VH-XFD) has a revised departure of 10 27.
 
Continuing today, VA1280 HTI-SYD 11 55 service (VH-YFU) took off until 13 36, arrival is predicted at 16 41, 86 tardy.
Also, VA682 PER-MEL 9 45 service (VH-XFC) departed until 12 05, arrival is suggested at 18 18, 118 behind schedule.
Previously discussed VH-XFD has formed as VA686 PER-MEL 12 05, currently taxing and with a tentative departure of 13 27, 82 late.
 
On Tuesday 11 December 2018, VA500 (early morning 0600 hours OOL down to SYD, B738 VH-VBZ) took off at 0646, so arrival has become an estimated 0901 hours, 31 late.
 
Later on 11 December, VA555, the 0935 hours nicely timed SYD across to PER with popular A332 VH-XFG is winging its way across, but late, as it took off at 1100 even. Arrival should be at 1238 hours, 58 minutes tardy.
 
Continuing with Tuesday 11 December 2018, VA239, the 1740 hours from MEL across to ADL that was airborne at 1824 (B738 VH-YFX) should arrive at 1902 tonight, 32 late.
 
VA830 (Wednesday 12 December, the 1000 hours SYD down to MEL airborne at 1136) has B738 VH-VOQ and should arrive at 1250 hours, 75 minutes tardy.
 
On a stormy MEL evening (Wednesday 12 December 2018), VA99, the 1835 hours MEL - CHC (B738 VH-YIT) took off at 2022. Arrival is predicted to be 0130 hours on Thursday 13 instead of 2355 tonight, so 90 minutes late.

The 1930 hours MEL up to SYD took off at 2027 (VA887, VH-YFX) so it will be at least 40 minutes tardy.

VA878 (1830 hours SYD down to MEL, VH-YFF) is arriving (subject to a feasible landing) at about 2050, 45 late. However JQ777 had two missed approaches at around 2015 and weather conditions are very unsettled.

VA238 from ADL to MEL has VHVUQ and looks to be arriving at its nominated gate at 2055, an hour late.

The OOL - MEL VA748 (Vh-YFL) is faring a little better, with predicted at gate arrival of 2100 hours, 40 late.

VA999 SYD-BNE now has a departure time of 2205 this evening (35 minutes late) and is expected to arrive at 2235 now (35 minutes late)

Tomorrow mornings 0630 VA804 SYD-MEL service has been cancelled

Also on Wednesday 12 December 2018, VA9228, the 1820 from GET to BQB (two codes I had to look up) took off at 1834 with arrival likely at 2034, 74 late. Aircraft is F100 VH-FZH.
 
Dec 13 sees the following:
  • VA427 ADL-SYD, the 15 00 service (VH-YFZ) arrived at 19 25, 120 tardy. Was on holding pattern due to weather.
  • VA863 MEL-SYD, the 16 30 service (VH-VUZ) arrived at 19 36, 101 late. Was over 2hrs airborne.
  • VA1535 HBA-SYD, the 16 35 service (VH-VUK) landed until 19 11, 46 behind schedule.
  • VA871 MEL-SYD 17 30 service (VH-VOT) arrived at 19 50, 55 late. This formed into VA886 SYD-MEL,19 30 service, which is currently taxing out of SYD.
  • VA875 MEL-SYD 18 00 service (VH-VUC) was airborne until 20 00, arrival expected at 21 20, 115 tardy.
  • VA667 CBR-SYD 18 35 service (VH-VPI) took off until 20 54, revised arrival at 21 48, 133 behind. This has an effect on VA672 SYD-CBR, with a revised departure of 22 35.
  • VA879 MEL-SYD 18 30 service (VH-VUL) departed until 20 01, expected at 21 20, 85 late. This is impacting VA894 SYD-MEL 21 00, now with a tentative departure of 22 00.
  • VA985 SYD-BNE, the 19 30 service (VH-VBZ) took off until 20 50, arrival expected at 21 08, 68 tardy.
  • VA993 SYD-BNE, the 20 30 service, now has a tentative departure of 21 31 (VH-YIS).

Some interesting holding patterns, diversions and rushes prior curfew. Obviously a lot more flights I couldn't capture.
 
Once again CBR airport was closed due to storms in vicinity, compounded then by waiting for the storm to clear Sydney. A lot of ex Melb flights circling around CBR trying to get to SYD.
 
Friday Dec 14 has been also quite a chaotic travel day:
  • VH-FVQ on VA629 CBR-SYD arrived until 13 21, 321 min tardy. Even worse, this continued affecting VA1187 SYD-PQQ, the 8 40 service which arrived until 15 20, 335 behind the original schedule. No surprises that this also affected VA1184, the 10 10 service PQQ down to SYD, which landed at 16 57, 332 behind.
  • B738 VH-YWE on VA815, the MEL-SYD 7 30 service arrived at 9 50, 55 min behind schedule.
  • VH-VOT on VA819, the 8 00 hours service from MEL to SYD arrived at 10 39, 74 min late.
  • VH-VUY on VA823 the MEL-SYD 8 30 hours, touch down in Sydney until 10 46, 51 min tardy. This later affected VA1519 SYD-TSB 10 30 service, which arrived until 13 33, 78 min behind. Also affected VA1520 TSV-SYD which recently arrived at 17 37, 67 late.
  • Similarly, VH-YWA MEL-SYD, the 9 00 service, arrived to gate until 11 20, 55 behind. Also affected VA935 SYD-BNE 11 00 service which arrived to gate until 12 45, 75 min tardy. This created a fruther delay on VA1394 BNE-ADL 12 10 service, which landed at 16 40, 75 min late.
  • VH-YFL on VA833 MEL-SYD, the 10 00 service arrived at 12 49, 84 min late. This formed to VA939 BNE-SYD 12 00 service which took off at 13 46, landed at 14 09, 99 behind. This carried over to another delay, now as VA785 BNE-CNS with a tentative arrival of 17 22, 97 min behind schedule.
  • VH-YFT serving as VA932, the 9 05 service from BNE to SYD took off until 10 49, arrived at 1 09, 89 behind schedule. This also affected VA418 SYD-AKL 12 40 hours service, which arrived to gate at 15 30, 70 tardy.
  • VH-VOK on VA1089 LST-SYD, arrived at 13 30, 90 min behind the original schedule. It later affected VA842 SYD-MEL 13 00 hours service, which arrived until 16 08, 93 late.
  • VH-VUH as the 14 05 OOL-SYD service took off at 15 59, arrival is suggested at 18 05, 80 min tardy.
  • VH-YIR VA954 BNE-SYD 14 05 service has now a revised arrival of 18 55, 135 min behind.
  • VH-VUE VA943 SYD-BNE 13 00 service arrived until 14 51, 81 min behind. This later formed as VA613 BNE-MKY, the 14 45 hours service, with an expected arrival at 17 30, 75 min late.
  • VH-YWS VA481 SYD-MCY, the 13 05 hour service, arrived at 15 13, 93 late. This further impacted VA484 MCY-SYD which now has a predicted arrival of 19 20, 110 tardy.

Sat 15th of Dec sees the usually punctual VA24 LAX-MEL delayed (777 VH-VOZ). It arrived to MEL at 8 57, 92 behind schedule.

VH-VOK as VA812 SYD-MEL 7 30 hours service, departed until 9 48. It arrived to Melbourne at 10 56, 111 behind. This also affected the return leg, VA833 MEL-SYD which landed until 13 02, 97 tardy.

VH-VUI has been running late all day. Firstly as VA816 SYD-MEL 8 00 hours service which arrived until 10 47, 72 behind. This later formed into VA323 MEL-BNE which arrived to Brisbane at 13 01, 51 tardy.

VH-YVA has not had a good run either. Firstly, VA1362 MEL-LST arrived at 10 56, 56 min behind schedule. This delayed the return leg VA1365, which arrived at Melbourne at 13 07, 87 late.

VH-YWD as VA834 SYD-MEL arrived until 13 31, 56 min behind. This had a flow effect on VA1324 MEL-HBA which arrived to gate at 16 02, 92 min tardy. This will also affect VA753 MEL-OOL, the 17 20 hours service, that has a revised departure time of 18 30.

VH-VUQ also having some difficulties today. VA319 MEL-BNE arrived until 11 15, 65 late. The return leg continued to extend the delay as VA324 arrived to gate at 15 28, 78 late. This later formed into VA853 MEL-SYD which has a revised arrival of 17 37, 72 behind.

VH-YWA as VA1593 MEL-NTL, the 12 15 hours service, arrived slightly delayed at 14 38, 53 behind. The return leg VA1594 NTL-MEL is predicted to arrive at 17 32, 92 tardy.

VH-YFN serving as VA845 MEL-SYD 13 00 hours service, arrived to gate at 15 32, 67 behind. The return leg, VA850 SYD-MEL has a tentative arrival at 18 08, 93 late.

VH-VUK was delayed when operating VA823 MEL-SYD the 8 30 hours service, which arrived at 11 02, 67 tardy.

VH-VUF operating as VA685 MEL-PER was airborne at 14 22, arrival is slightly delayed to 14 57, 57 min late. This may push back VA562 PER-SYD departure.

VH-VPE, the 777 operating VA2 LAX-SYD had a tardy arrival into Sydney at 10 15, 80 late. This meant that VA1 SYD-LAX was airborne at 13 03, arrival is predicted at 6 57, 52 min behind.

VH-VUT also struggling all day. VA935 SYD-BNE arrived at 12 50, 80 min behind. This then formed as the return leg VA946, with a tentative arrival at 17 32, 172 behind. This is also going to impact VA858 SYD-MEL which was originally scheduled for 16 00.

On Sunday 16 December, VA846, the 1400 hours from SYD to MEL (B738 VH-VUJ) was airborne at 1507, so arrival is suggested at 1629 hours, 54 late. Provided it sticks to its advised roster, this will then delay VA846 (1630 hours MEL - SYD).
 
Later on 16 December 2018, VA228, the 1505 hours mid afternoon ADL across to MEL did not take off until 1626. The usual B738, in this case VH-VUG, should arrive at 1807 hours, 72 late.
 
By the way, a happy Christmas to AviatorInsight who does as his name suggests. With another pilot contributor retiring (in the work sense) this website needs staff with such duties to contribute and add a sense of perspective that outsiders may not be able to.

In more on 16 December, VA962 (B738 VH-VOT, the 1605 hours BNE down to SYD airborne at 1653) is arriving at 1913, 33 late.

The MEL to SYD VA874 (the 1740 hours, airborne at 1904) has VH-VUG and should be at its destination gate at 2012 tonight, 77 late.
