Virgin Australia Delays/Cancellations

Another delay on Monday 3 December is VA637 (B738 VH-YFZ, the 0905 hours CBR - SYD that took off at 1001) arriving at 1031 hours, 31 minutes tardy.

Not a VA specific, but related. HA451(VA5101) HNL-SYD diverted back to HNL. HA452(VA5100) SYD-HNL is scheduled now for departure on Tues 4th at 7 30. Just in case as some passengers may be booked via VA.

On Tuesday 4 December, VA163 (1030 hours SYD - ZQN, B738 VH-YIU that took off at 1123 hours) should arrive at about 1602, 32 late.

Continuing today, VA686 PER-MEL 12 05 service did not leave until 13 11. Arrival is predicted for 19 28, 48 tardy (VH-YFT).
VA162 ZQN-SYD 16 20 service (VH-YIU) took off until 17 32, landed at 18 28, 48 behind.

VA331 MEL-BNE 14 00 service diverted back to Melbourne shortly after take off (VH-YWE).

VA963 BNE-SYD 16 05 service was cancelled.
VA977 SYD-BNE 18 30 service was also cancelled.

On Wednesday 5 December 2018, VA1384, the 0610 hours BNE across to ADL (B738 VH-YFN) took off at 0650. Expected arrival is 0956 hours, 31 late.

Also today, VA43 BNE-DPS 10 10 service (VH-YIQ) is now scheduled for a 14 10 departure, 240 min behind schedule. This will delay VA46 DPS-BNE which had an original departure time of 21 10... it is going to be a very late one for those passengers and crew.

Interestingly, this aircraft had a very bad run yesterday with ongoing delays all day. I'm assuming there may be a mechanical issue?

Also, VA117 BNE-ZQN 9 30 service is now scheduled for a tentative departure at 11 18. This will have an effect on VA116 ZQN-BNE 16 50, now with a revised departure of 18 29. (VH-YIS).

VA43 ended up departing BNE at 1507 (297 minutes late) and is expected to arrive at DPS at 1912 this evening (287 minutes late) Perhaps a aircraft swap as VA43 is showing as VH-YIS and VH-YIQ was assigned to the VA117 BNE-ZQN flight which was cancelled

B738 VH-YIW on VA184, the 1625 hours NAN - MEL that took off at 1726 is arriving on 6 December 2018 at 2037, 37 minutes tardy.

Friday 7 December 2018 finds VA806, the 0645 hours SYD =- MEL that took off at 0729 hours (B738 VH-VUH) arriving at a suggested 0851 hours, 31 minutes behind schedule.

VA233 (Friday 7 December, the 1640 hours late afternoon MEL - ADL, B738 VH-VUV) took off at 1749 so arrival is suggested as 1820 hours, 50 late.

VH-YFZ on VA236 in the opposite direction, the 1705 hours, did not take off until 1752 so arrival should be at least half an hour behind schedule in a hot MEL.

The MEL up to CBR VA287 (VH-YFR) should arrive at 2022 tonight, 32 late.

VA2 from LAX to SYD is arriving on Saturday 8 December 2018 with B773ER VH-VPF at about 1030 hours, 95 late. This flight has only been less than 15 minutes late on four of its last eight trips, and significantly late (including today) twice.

Saturday 8 December's VA69, the 1100 hours latish morning MEL - HKG did not become airborne until 1230 hours. Arrival for A332 VH=XFG is estimated as 1842. 67 late.

As a result, VA68, the 1950 hours HKG redeye back down to MEL may be slightly delayed. Sometimes this aircraft forms the Sydney flight.

B738 VH-VOK on VA464 from BNE to PER, the 0840 hours that took off at 0936 has been slowed by adverse winds and should arrive at roughly 1243 hours, 38 late.

Just a slight clarification that VA operates the 332 M1

Indeed! Correct, so corrected.

Hope you "enjoy" the VA cancellations/delays page as you rightly suggested back in about 2014 that the QF pages were not matched by 'equivalent treatment' of other airlines' problems.

Interestingly viewership of the QF pages far outstrips any others - if I did the maths, it may be more reading the QF pages than all other airlines (including JQ) combined - and doesn't reflect how for international passengers, QF own metal has only about a 25 per cent share (and say 40-45 per cent for own metal domestic, but combined with JQ for latter about 65 per cent).

B738 VH-VOO, the Sunday 9 December 2018 SYD - OOL due out at 1010 hours mid morning had only just departed at about 1102, so it will be at least 45 minutes late.

The 1005 hours SYD - CBE, VA640 has ATR72 VH-FVN but had still not taken off as at 1106 hours. It will arrive at least 50 late.

VA83 (1015 hours SYD - HKG with A332 VH-XFE) was only in the early stages of taxiing as at 1106. It took off at 1113 and should arrive at 1720, 45 late.
