Virgin Australia Delays/Cancellations

VA182 NAN-SYD is at risk of not making curfew. Still in NAN. Boarding time now 2030 which is cutting it fine.

VA182 departed NAN at 2032 and took off extremely promptly at 2040 hours if various websites are accurate. SYD arrival should be at 2310 (but as Quickstatus implies, may be revised if pilots fly faster.)

This aircraft had a slow turnaround in NAN but it had been badly late on the 1030 hours SYD - NAN today (VA183) that did not take off until 1309.

VH-YIY had two diversions in about 24 hours:

UPDATE: Quickstatus and I were posting concurrently. Not sure why our at gate arrival times vary by three minutes. My standard practice is to add five minutes to the landing time that one site claimed was '2305 hours.'

On Sunday 7 July 2019, VA82 from HKG to SYD (A332 VH-XFJ, the 1950 hours was not up up and away at 2203, so Monday 8 expected arrival is 0850 hours, 100 minutes late. As a result, its next flight, VA551, the 0715 hours SYD - PER will be delayed until after 0945. It isn't normal for an 0710 hours arrival at the international terminal to form an 0715 hours departure domestically as the aircraft has to transfer between terminals. Presumably another aircraft is unavailable.

In theory it's a good idea to operate the A332s on a HKG - Oz (MEL or SYD) - PER and return roster but in practice if the international sector is badly delayed, it can fall down.

Monday 8's VA401 (B738 VH-VUG, the 0600 hours ADL - SYD) was in the sky at 0642 so arrival should be 34 minutes late at 0854.
