Virgin Lounge Menu

Being Vegetarian I found the sushi to be great, as did my Japanese sister in law. Fould was the little meat ball things, heaven only knows what bits were miced for those.

STILL the same chicken/rice dish in MEL on Friday evening, I think they ran out of rice though about 7pm and it was chicken dish with pita bread ONLY.............

Lounge was packed, due to delays from the SYD weather. They need new food and a J lounge in MEL that's for sure

Why do they serve the same lounge food for months on end ?

Pretty poor really, again the Qantas lounges in CBR had different food from the week prior.. Not that hard to vary the menu a little

Still the same menu in the MEL lounge! Friday evening was the mexican bean thing which has been on rotation with the chicken/rice dish

The vindaloo curry in the Sydney lounge last night was a shocker - still paying for it a day later. Would rather have had a couple of hot dogs.

Was it hot, or just bad?

I'll send awilcockson down on a fact finding (and mouth burning) mission!

I can never understand the logic in putting a curry in the lounge, when shortly after eating you will have hundreds of people captive in a metal tube, floating air biscuits left right and centre is not a pleasant experience for anyone. Especially on Redeyes, when sleeping, there is no dignity or dicretion whatsoever :oops::lol:

Same for scrambled eggs for breakfast, but I do love them.

the steak and onion pies that are in the QF J lounges would be nice.
I tend to just go for the humble toasted cheese sambo when in DJ lounge.

OT a bit, is DJ going to offer a domestic J lounge?

I wish they would upgrade the offering in Brisbane. Pretty uninspiring food selection IMO.

Thanks AFF community and particularly the T.S.A.S. - we hear you!

Pleased to let toastie fans know that as of next Tuesday, we will have all day toastie stations with sliced tomato and condiments, in all Virgin Australia lounges, and a 'normal' toaster will also be available in the Melbourne lounge.

Based on your feedback, we're also including Swiss cheese, sliced tomatoes, condiments, and salad dressing at lunch and dinner. But that's not all folks ..... we are now investigating:

  • more hot items (quantity and variety) in the evening
  • heartier breakfast options
  • more choices suitable for gluten intolerant and other dietary requirements
  • other non-alcoholic beverages
  • plus a few surprises. ;)

Please do note though that our lounges don't profess to provide a full sit down meal, nor intend to compete with the cafes/restaurants, your mum's roast, wife's casserole, or catering at the corporate function you're attending. We just want to provide you with fresh, tasty light options to keep you going!

Any and all feedback is of course welcome, and if you'd like to send through to the team can review and investigate even quicker than we can through watching and participating here. In saying that, reading about what everyone likes on their toasted sandwiches makes this particular rep not feel so strange!

(Please Note: These changes apply only to the Virgin Australia lounge menu, our on board menu is separate to this)

Thanks again.

I would really appreciate some more vegetarian options - it seems they have become less over the past year or so.
