41J for me and 41K for my co-worker who has never seen the inside of an airline lounge before.

I've told him that the best thing about the Qantas first lounge is that they don't let people like me and him in.

And by the looks of the print out, we too have the claytons boarding pass.

For what it's worth...

Anybody can now go online to jetstar.com and do webcheckin, you get all the way to the end where instead of getting a boarding pass you get a 'This is not a boarding pass, please proceed to the customer service desk at the airport"

Which means.... You don't have to sit in the long queue. :D Straight to the customer service desk!

I think the Customer Service desk opens the same time as check-in does ... so no time advantage, but potentially the queue advantage! (Although, I still think Jetstar will shunt you into the check-in line to get your boarding pass!)

It's something I may try if I can't get my boarding pass through other means...

 The queue at the service desk will be longer than the normal check-in queue.:p

Well I just did it online for free. Sticking it to the man. :D

As it's booked through QF I can't change it via my FF profile there, and Qthe JQ site doesn't see my booking...

I just had my JQ30 flight up tomorrow cancelled! So devastated I had my Mel f lounge breakfast all planned out, they better not touch Saturday's flight!

Im in 34k on JQ35 and have a seat next to me also, so don't be a stranger!

The queue will be full off AFF members. I might have to print out a sign and stick it over the 'Customer Service' sign. ;)

I might have to buy a return ticket now and save then.

Never used it before, is it cheaper to prepay? Couldn't find anything to say so on the website.

Good news is that there is a 4:30am bus to get us to the airport in time for the J lounge opening :D

A one-way is $16 on the website, as it is in person, but a return costs $26, so you save $6. Not sure if there’s a better deal than that though, perhaps a MELbournite can chime in. I think Star Bus is cheaper but doesn’t go to Southern Cross.

1. Depending on the size of the group a shared cab may be cheaper - IME 3 people tends to be about the break-even point, so for 4 people, cab is generally cheaper/faster.

2. Someone from Melbourne may be driving, in which case Y seats may be available in a car

In the tradition of all good travel events I have organised a Tour leader.

You may be aware of the AA service:
AmericanAirlines(R) Five Star Service

Jetstar now has this service as well, and we as AFF members are going to experience it first hand.
Only the finest North Korean hospitality agents have been procured for the job.

So don't look for someone holding a clipboard or umbrella, look for your friendly guide holding a Marc Newson inspired AK-47:

I’ve put myself in 40B.

You got yourself a seat mate. :) ;)

Web check-in was a jolly waste of time. That is, it's not check in (just a notice, really, and perhaps I got to select a seat for free since as a Starter fare I would've been charged $4 for the privilege). Not only that, but the notice says nothing about being able to go to the service counter. It just says to go to a Web Check-in counter, and if not then just a regular one. So we're pretty much back to where we started (because I doubt the efficacy and enforcement of a special Web Check-in counter if JQ ever put one up, especially since this is SYD and not MEL (i.e. where in the latter, JQ has a dedicated service row)).

Can someone confirm what flights are happening?
I know of bne-syd-bne... But whats this of MEL??
Updates people???
