Weekend in Sydney 30th-31st July, 2011 (inc FLounge run)- COME PLAY!

I was referring to Checkin, not boarding.

I heard about your special PA last time. At least we won't have to hear, "This is your captain speaking, well, maybe not today."

In terms of check-in, you just watch what the general public does. As with anyone that's trying to save money on airfares, they inevitably will choose the shortest queue, which happens to be for StarClass/Business, and when it actually opens they all get shunted to the longer line, which is not surprisingly for economy. As we'll line up at the front of the longer line, we'll be served first.

By the time we get to the gate, which will no doubt be the furthest from the lounge, everyone will have already boarded. We might even get a special call again.

I can just imagine the call now... By the time they got through all 20 names we'd have goen from the FLounge to the gate...

But we will have to put up with, "Subtly, every aircraft is different", and, "...go through this safety check list. Seatbelt - on and tight........Let me explain..." *shudder*

I much prefer that one to anything with JT.

I still know most of it off by heart. "A loss of oxygen at altitude, can lead to a loss of consciousness." Really? Didn't know that.

Somebody remind me to switch the tapes. :P

One would think logic would prevail and they could call the F Lounge, but then again, we are flying JQ!

Oh a taste test huh? Very good.

I'll be starting on a Taittinger and then moving on to Bollinger.

I actually didn't touch the furniture last time, unless you mean another Sam. I ended up at the round table by the window. There were others who moved the furniture, and I believe they said it was very heavy.

My apologies Sam, right you are, my mistake :)

I was back in the F lounge 2 days later and they were concerned that we didn't hurt ourselves ;)

I thought my name was on the list but alas it is not so please add me to the "Loser Who does not fly Jetstar and would rather play Golf on Saturdays"

Once some of you come back to Sydney then I should be free for a few drinks, but the flying can wear you out.
We can have a drink or two on Sunday night.

No one ever reads what I write it seems.
I read what you write. :p

Just picturing the The shocked faces on the JQ checkin staff to see a crowd queuing up over 3 hours before the flight!

Fingers crossed they open on time at exactly noon.

They really don't care. They saunter down the aisle about 10 minutes to, then look at the crowd (and yes, it is much more than AFF'ers at that time), then must chuckle to themselves a little. The sheep in the wrong queue (wasn't marked btw), are then moved to the proper queue, they then put up the signs, think about their weekend they are missing, and finally open up check-in about 5 minutes late.

The last count I did way a few weeks back we had way more Plats than non. If anyone wants to know for sure, they can go back, count and check the status ppl put in under their avatar.

I'm in Seat 38K. And frankly, I'd rather have the spare seat next to me, so please do y'all be strangers and sit next to each other.

Oh, and a little suggestion this time: no self-op-ups, please:?: ;) (I wasn't there last time to witness it, but let's not do it... after all, thou shalt do unto others as you would do unto thyself...)

Blah blah... it was not merely a self op-up, I took some dude's seat. When he came up to 1B with his oh-so-legitimate boarding pass I totally went to go and he very amiably said "don't worry about it" and went and plonked himself somewhere else. Would've been rude to leave after that.

1'm in 1B and looking forward to meeting you all

1B? Don't count on holding on to it.

Anyone doing Mel QP/J lounge arrival access after JQ35 lands? Looking at joining you but need to book the flight back to Adl.

*thinks if LiamR wants favours from Lawlass he should learn to spell her name right*

Wow. This is the second time. Damn autocorrect things it should be Lawless. So now, to teach it. I will write Lawlass 500 times.

I'm flying out on Virgin, happy to head over to the QF lounge for a while after JQ35. Someone might need to guest me in.

OK better book the last flight I can get. As for guesting, I'm very sure the place will be swarming with WPs heading for another round in the Mel QP/J Lounge. ;)

For me, I'm deciding weather to leave on the 6pm flight or 8pm flight. Getting in at 8pm or 10pm.... Will see how things are going on the day. Thank god for flex tickets. :D

I forgot to print out the thing that is not a boarding pass and now it's gone and I can't get it back.

I hope I didn't need it, seeing as it wasn't a boarding pass and all.
