Searching for "eftpos gift cards" on Google brings some interesting results

https://www.google.com.au/search?q=eftpos+gift+cards

Interesting times !!
OMG. There's a whole universe of these things out there! A quick flick showed the various sites to be remarkably free of useful pricing details, however.

They all seem to work in much the same way as the excess card, so could be used to generate points and extend the reach of Amex cards and such. I wonder what the limits are and what fees and surcharges might be involved.

What must be driving this industry are cards that are lost or expire with balances. I hear that about a third of these things never get used, though obviously one would regard a card with a thousand bucks on it as a more valuable item than a fifty dollar Chrissie prezzie.

This probably needs further investigation. I'm guessing here that one could order up a whole bunch of these things from various sources - with what looks like healthy competition amongst resellers, I dare say there are bargains and incentives to be had - and just go nuts.

Again, regardless of how diverse one is in the middle, the start and end points of your credit card and your frequent flyer balance are where any grand schemes could easily come unstuck.

Just as there seem to be many many many eft pos cards, so too are there a few pre paid CCs out there. This one, for example. Again, with similar T&C. However, only corporate customers need apply for the cards with useful balances, and I dare say that a bank would very quickly grow suspicious of any customer that apparently did nothing but add wear and tear to their staff and machines!

OMG @xsiq. One of the other participants here has hinted that the gift card market needs to be explored. Little did I know how much there is to explore

edit to add: to cut down on the PMs......there are PLENTY of hints about what a "not country" card might be. I am pretty sure I actually spelt it out in an earlier post. And you ought be able to nut it out :)...think about where you might be if you are not in the country and think a bit more about the answer and if that could apply to a certain financial institution.
People need to be aware that there is a certain sensitivity about a lot of this stuff. Yeah yeah I acknowledge I started this thread against advice.

Do people seriously need help to work that one out????

Bank@Post - Australia Post

an interesting link sent by one of my PM correspondents. Thank you very much. By my reckoning certain accounts from the institutions listed* should be able to be paid by EFTPOS
Many of the names have been hinted at or even loudly shouted about in this thread :). Some others still to explore. Including a certain airline's oft discussed credit union....MMMMM much food for thought there. Any takers to try? I might have a go on Monday
Remember to persist as a lot of this is operator dependent. Also see discussions above or PM me about sensible use of this wonderful bill paying EFTPOS gift card...hint: it is likely that very obvious circular transactions will be picked up

*non country card is about 6th on the bank list for anyone still uncertain ;)

another edit to add: very interesting and unexpected entry under "other participating financial institutions". Don't know what to make of that one (second from the bottom)

Is there a way to set up a private group message?

Thinking that excess is one of many options here and that we should find out a list of ef tpos suppliers including fees and who they accept.

Is it possible to make a private forum/topic on here, or would it require a new site/www.?

Invite only style, so others who just become members cant access it. ie: come across topic via web search, join as new member. as in "spies amongst us" ;)

== sorry if i spoke bad, not wanting to offend ==
