Westfield XS card

WF isn't likely to kill off a golden goose any time soon. What makes these things profitable for them is that they are sitting on the money paid by the purchaser, and in many cases the little bitty cards are lost or never drained to the last drop.

If there's only one or two exploiting the system - or rather, using the cards to their full potential of the terms and conditions - it's not a problem. But when it is hundreds growing into thousands...

And, let's face it, we must have been cranking a fair bit of money through their system over the past couple of months.

Today's news: "Card declined".
Thanks for the note above. I was able to move a couple of cards in the last few days. I was using them "fairly" until then. But needed to move a few out quickly

I was just thinking about this and I thought AusPost was only refusing these cards for financial related purchases. Does this mean they no longer accept them full stop?

It was a deliberate choice. One of the contributors to this thread went so far as to PM me about the meaning of a word. I think it was after I called him "querulous". It was then that I realised that if he couldn't be bothered looking THAT up for himself that I was wasting my time trying to help him with anything else.

I'm glad you have realised this now but again looking at past performance well before this thread was created you would have known this.

Right got my first one from kiosk.
Initially asked what want for and told max amount requires authorization.
Then 3 phone calls later to boss, told no answer, so sell you the card.
Drivers licence don't have on me.
Ooh well telephone number.
Then when told them pin credit card payment.
No need for licence.
Have card..how long before can use?(do you have to wait 20mins or something)
Asked why want it, initially refused to sell when told em to pay bills..not what its for...ok buy stuff...will sell it to you theB.C.
Also told them politely none of your business.

All sent from shopping centre via mobile phone hence the pigeon english.

Edit: success ;)

Could you help us (and yourself in the process) by using standard English phrases?

Some guys in Africa / Belgium coming across this post may end up talking English in a way most of us would not.

Have a nice day

I suspect you are catching a boat that has already sailed!

Can anyone answer...is the fee always $4.95 when purchased at Westfield...even if you don't get\want the box?
The website says only $2.50 per card service fee.
Yes I know corp orders over $20K are fee free

Well this sucks!

What is the difference between me using an EFTPOS card to pay for my credit card bill or a XS card.... ?

I guess it's in the T and C. The bit that says use up to the holder of the EFTPOS machine and not all places will accept them.

But it does suck. I'm not sure why the PO would decide unilaterally not to accept them.

I can understand why Westfield would be annoyed that some people were actually using ALL of the money on their gift cards. (Shock horror at the concept).
But that's a different issue.

Jumped the gun. Apologies my mate was trying to use the ref# as the pin.

pretty funny

I presume that the post side has been cut off due to money laundering concerns. Slightly laughable.. but corporates do some strange things at times.

Corporate order form has changed from 20k spend to 250k spend in order to qualify for fee waiver!
Otherwise it's $4.95 per card.

Crikey. The boat keeps sailing further away :(
It's a pity when a business plan relies on people not spending all of their "gift" and gets tightened up when people do. Oh well that's life. Move on.
