I'm not an existing Westpac customer and received my card in the mail on the Thursday after applying online on Sunday...
Thanks. i got approved for the Wespac card but rejected for Amex even though i offered to move some of my substantial limit to this application to get it approved. Was advised to call after i receive the rejection letter to appeal.
Anyone know more about the appealprocess?

I asked the same question in the wrong thread. Do you know how long after statement date the points will be transferred to Qantas? I have 3,000points in my first statement however it’s been 10 days and I have not seen the points credited to my Qantas account yet.

Sorry to not have mentioned mine is a Visa Westpac attitude only, 60,000 Qantas points and no fee for the first year.

I’d be calling. Usually a few days after statement is issued.

I’m still waiting on points and already have called them. I guess I’ll have to call them again and keep on calling till they resolve it for me.

I've called up 4 times, once soon after getting the card to verify they have my frequent flyer number and 3 times so far chasing up the missing points (not a lot of points, but I want the sign up bonus to transfer in a timely manner once they decide to transfer that). Wonder what I can do next if they still won't resolve it? You'd think they should want to resolve this as every call is costing them money and they'll still have the cost of the points regardless.

FOS. It's often the only way some of these banks will listen. Every FOS inquiry costs them money.

Dumb question but how do we know how much our minimum spend to get bonus is.

I've got the 6k limit visa And with the numerous promotions going on. I'm ultra confused

Check the t&c’s that you would have saved when applying. When I applied it was $3k on visa and $3k on the Amex.

Applied for this card on Thursday, formally approved on Friday, Amex card arrived Monday and Visa picked up from the bank on Tuesday. All very painless and efficient. Citibank take note, it’s not that hard !

I applied last night for the Altitude Black World Mastercard, was approved immediately. Got a few quesitons:
Do i need to apply for the Amex seperately or is it done automatically?
Also I see on this website in the top 5 credit card deals for august it says both annual fees are waived (mastercard and amex), yet I dont see that anywhere on the Westpac website. Any ideal if this is the case?

I can’t speak for the black card but when applying for the platinum one of the first questions was do you want to include the Amex card too.
Westpac offers the black m/c alone on its own website but only 80k bonus points.
This link from the QFF site is for the black/amex combo for 120k points at no 1st years fee

Does anyone know if you can send a referral for this Westpac card or is it other Amex cards

I had a somewhat similar experience. Applied for the card and was approved. A couple of days later the offer was improved when they waived the annual fee for new customers. When my first statement arrived I had been charged the fee as per the T & Cs I signed up for; bugger!

So what to do? I rang and told the agent (in a very nice way) that I was most disappointed that I was charged the fee when they changed the offer a couple of days after I applied. After being on hold for a minute or two, he said the fee had been reversed and apologised for the "inconvenience".

May I suggest you wait for your first statement and then, if the fee is charged, give 'em a call. They can only say YES or NO.

None of the points form my statement from mid July have transferred to my QFF account. My QFF number is listed correctly on my statement, so that's not the problem. Looks like I'll have to call them as there does not seem to be any way to send them an online message.

My experience for QFF paints payment.
For the AMEX, my statement period was until the 5th August. On the 31st July however I received in QFF the points up until 30th July, which differed from the spend on the 5th August statement due to the first 5 days of August. I've generally received the points for a statement period rather than a calendar monthly period which is different than the statement period.
For the Visa, my statement was until 8th August. (Due on the 23rd). No points received from this card yet.

You may need to contact Westpac. If the bank doesn't resolve it in a timely manner then move onto contacting the FOS referencing your attempts to resolve the issue with Westpac.

If enough people go through this process then maybe the banks will realise it's cheaper for them to improve their systems so that they work properly.
