What cheeses me off

I guess with Uber and Didi, there is no BO standard, so long as they pay their fee, have a DL, and no demerits, they are onto the money.
Probably taxi drivers, its the same(ish).
Not sure who to complain to, to the Taxi Registration board of the state of the taxi you sat in, sat in as in figuratively speaking.
I have sat on Supershuttles in NZ where the driver didnt use the air cond, and it was about mid to late Dec, so it wasn't all that cold, wasnt hot either, as it was about 9.30pm, so I sneakily wound the window down, as I was seating beside the driver as a solo pax upfront, back of it was full.
Going back to the airport, I was in the back with a helotosis guy, eek.
Those supershuttle vans in the back, down have opening windows.
Took nearly an hour as the driver picked up several people out New Lynn way.

I'm seriously struggling to understand who would use a BBQ and leave it this way?

I cleaned and cleaned and this the best I could do. The other one was worse.

I've cleaned park bbqs like that numerous times with no problem. Newspaper and water. The trick is get them hot, then pour on the water, then scrub with newspaper.

Judging by all the water in the third picture, I assume you didn't use heat...

Why is it so difficult to deal with most businesses.

Bought my daughter a Lebara Sim for $10 with 80 GBs included for 30 days. It reverts to $39.90 for subsequent 30 day recharges and if you have auto recharge next 2 months there's 10% discount.

So what do you think they charged last week? How much time do I have to waste to get the $4 back?
$4 is about 1 minute of my time, I wouldn't even bother dialling.

Well here is my money cheese - I'm about 4% ahead on my mortgage, based on scheduled balance. If I redraw about 3%, the bank wants to up the repayments about 20%.

What's a newspaper?
It's a thing that keeps Uncle Rupert off the streets...

I assumed this was due to them not passing on the full monthly repayment increase as interest rates rose if you were ahead

Our small mortgage is fully offset by our personal money in the bank. So we pay no interest. And we are thousands ahead of the schedule of paying off the capital . But NAB keeps upping how much we have to pay monthly! I should just pay it off amd be done with them but can't quite pull that trigger.

…people who leave the s off maths. Usually seppos.
That's actually valid if it's a Seppo doing it ... same as pronouncing the letter Z as 'zee', dropping the u in a bunch of words like colour and fervour, referring to jelly as jello, and referring to a bottom as a mule ("I'll explode a peaked-hat in your mule!"). American English is considered to be valid, allegedly.

It's NOT valid if it's an Aussie doing it.
Nor if they misspell cough.

Mind you, "Legos" is not even valid if a Seppo is doing it. That's not American English, it's just ignorance.

Similarly on the residence more in the offset than the loan so no interest. Mortgage broker advised not to pay it off as retirees have more difficulty getting new loans and cc and its effectively an interest free LOC for any emergencies.

That's pleasing to hear. And exactly what I thought without getting the 'professional' confirmation. Just wish NAB would leave us alone 😂. They keep bothering the husband yet until 12 months ago he didn't even have a NAB log in and I did it all.

Does he have to do something every time the rate changes?

That's a bit cough. I get mail every time our minimum repayment changes, but I just (recycle) bin it ... "the system" takes care of that stuff!

For way too many years I've noticed how Yanks say "off of" something rather than just "off". I've discovered where the additional 'of' came from. They say and write "couple days/months/guys" instead of "couple OF days/months/guys". I always thought they were saying "coupla days" but I was reading a novel recently when I noticed it actually written as "couple days" and now it stands out like the dog's gonads to me. So that's that mystery solved.

No, don't pay it off and don't close the mortgage.
Let it sit like as it is, why, I hear you ask.
At this point, with the current situation, you will show any other finance providers that you are a "risk", so to speak, ie, you will owe them money, them being the organization you might want to deal with, ...
Maybe for, eg, buy a rental property.
Of course, you and I and everyone knows you can pay the debt off easy/easily, but for the lender or Equifax or those places, they will deem you a finance risk, /a mug they can siphon interest off, but in real life, can never happen, as you have the funds to pay each month.
Full working income, and with lots of assets, and no debts, can ping anything in future as "declined".
Edit:
I think I read somewhere that they (the bank/finance provider) has to send their cutsomer, ie, you info on everything that affects you, no matter how small.
If you don't really have any debt outstanding, you are not really paying anything, the cost of postage (admin), they will have to bear it.
If you let them email you, you will probably get more email spam, so just recycle the blah, but anything with your name on it, put it in the garden for the worm to deal with.

They keep ringing him to see if there's something they can do for him 😂. (Maybe he should tell them to b***er off (my asterisks) Yet I don't think he's handled one single financial transaction in over forty years!
