What I ate today - the food thread

Just having our xmas meal at work- working 2p-10pm - turkey, ham, chicken , romanian dish, salads - very good - supplied by ourselves- already had our olives , cheese, salami - fruit platter earlier. Just need some dessert - unfortunately no alcohol- have wait til get home.

Merry xmas to all, especially ones working over holiday period.

Sounds a bit like me... working today 12-8.30pm, would not be so bad except for the early start tomorrow so its home, have a drink and then off to bed for me.

I stated the day with Christmas lunch at 10.30am, garlic prawns with salad and bread and water, then when I got to work it has been more like a see-food-diet. As we all bring in a plate (or 10), the staff room has been overflowing with food and you just eat as you go along and when you can. I have had seafood, chicken, ham, olives, crackers, bread, dips, chips, potato salad, cakes, chocolate, coffee, salad, pavlova, fruit... think I am in a food coma now. Curing it with my whiskey now that I have come home :D

Merry Christmas to you all, hope you enjoyed the holidays :)

An end of holiday lunch at Aqua Dining overlooking North Sydney Pool and Sydney Harbour. We were on a BYO deal and took a bottle of Perrier Jouet and a Peregrine Central Otago Riesling.

For starters an amuse bouche of salmon. Starters: Scallop with sorrel and white puffed rice. Confit calamari, green pea and squid ink emulsion.

Pasta: Spelt tagliolini, lemon myrtle, sardines and spring onion. Smoked trout agnolotti, asparagus and lemon gel.

No pics, but dined at Tetsuya's Restaurant in Sydney last night. It was amazing, and it certainly still "has it". The menu was seafood focused, and very well matched to the wines. I will try to post a pic of the take home menu.

I was with an American colleague who was rather chatty with the wait staff and asked lots of questions, which were always politely answered.

Definitely one of the best fine dining experiences in Sydney.
