Re: QF A380 - Favourite F Seat

I'm prepared to carry out a study on this. All I need is some corporate funding.

I'll assist you in your research. I've only sat in 2a and 5a so 12 more seats to road test. :)

Be nice if I could get a grant and DSC at the same time. :)

I'm happy just to do the flying ;)

A380 First Class

Any advise on the best seats for a couple on the A380 first class. it is my Birthday and I have upgraded us to the pointy end of the plane. I have flown several times up front but never as a couple.

Re: A380 First Class

1. Happy BDay
2. Either 1A/2A/3A/4A/5A or 1K/2K/3K/4K/5K or an F/K combination

Keep in mind you can sit together for meals, but then there is no TV :P

Thanks for that we are in 4 & 5 A we can fit in one seat when watching the movies but I plan on insuring that they run out of Champagne on the flight. I have a chauffeur picking us up in LA. so not too interested in the movies.

Re: A380 First Class

Presume OP (by response) is meaning QF here, which should be either mentioned in the first post, or posted in the Qantas forum.

Welcome to AFF :D

I have merge your post with the existing master thread.

There is plenty of information here - just read the entire thread.

Re: A380 First Class

Never flown F before. Currently seated in 2A. 5A (the bassinet position) is already occupied. What do others think: given that the seat is selected, what are the chances the pax actually has an infant?

I was thinking of moving to 3A to move into the middle of the cabin (furthest proximity from bathrooms and galleys), though this may move me closer to an infant. Would I better off moving to 2K/3K?

Any suggestions/advice/previous experiences people can share would be greatly appreciated.

2A is my preferred seat - I find it very quiet and I don't think you will find it a problem in any way. Can't comment on an infant.....

2A gets my thumbs up from my experience. Not sure if 5A is impacted since the config change but I'd be sticking with what you have!

I've sat in:

5A
5A
5A
3A
1A

5A is definitely noisier since the config change.

I would choose 2A or 3A in a heartbeat.

Doesn't it annoy you sitting in K that the people in the centre seats put their bags above you?

The bins are so big it doesn't really matter. It would annoy me if they continually accessed the bin inflight, but so far that hasn't happened to me.
Creaky noisy floors with big foot FA's and passengers were more of an issue for me the last time I was in the F cabin.
The A side has less foot traffic IME

I like the sound of Bigfoot FAs!! It gets me excited as I know that they are carrying that very heavy bottle of 1999 Taittinger Comtes de Champagne :)
