What's your prediction on the Australian Dollar?

Against some currencies.
Very confusing.

It was 26.19THB in Chiang Mai Saturday then 24.77THB in BKK airport last night and 26.55THB in Bangkok today. Is that close to the mid market rate today?

And I saw something today I have never seen before. She stapled some paper to the AUD I gave her to exchange.

australia seems to be the ONLY country in the world where diesel is more expensive than unleaded ... really weird

In the US you can get unleaded for 1.70 USD a gallon roughly .45 a litre, Diesel cost me 2.50 a gallon, roughly .65 a liter.

And I seem like the only happy person on the forum about the AUD drop, going next Jan for 26 day trip!

With the weakening AUD and it appears it will go only lower, it annoys me that there are quite a few people in government who have this idea/desire to remove the GST free threshold and tax everything that is bought overseas. Now the AUD is like 80cents to the USD, things bought in USD is now 25% more than what is was half a year ago. If shops such as Hardley Normal can't compete, then they shouldn't be in business.

I think it's going to hit 70 cents by year end. I'm buying whatever I can at 80 cents, then quitting all my US $ shopping and ending my US mailbox subscription....plus lately I've had so many online shopping issues I'm over it.

The USD trading importers are starting to $$hit themselves...
That would be me.. we released a new pricelist this week as just could not hold off any longer. Everything has gone up in the vicinity of 15%. Not much push back yet, all of our customers seem to have been expecting it. As to what will happen to sales we will have to wait and see. We do our best to be inline with the US prices, if we arent competitive we get slaughtered, so no "Australia Tax" here but it is hard as freight is increasingly expensive and that really eats into our margins.

Going down fast tonight with AUD at 0.788. Am glad we make hundreds of items in Australia. Those prepaid Flemings Steakhouse gift cards from Costco have turned into an investment as we have saved about $200.

30% move downwards for the Chevrolet SS since release (near the peak)... Assume its too late for the car industry however

The drop in the dollar is going to affect the locals just as much, so nothing has really changed, there is still a 10% differential, it's just that the $$$ difference will increase, resulting in an even bigger difference to buying it locally.

Prices from wholesalers will start rising from February 1st thru to May 1st and will be significant for US dollar denominated imports. These price changes will be significant.
The goods from Europe are not affected as the Euro is declining.

Not only will we see prices increases but we will also start to see lower grade product filter in - already we have shelved some higher end models and will be replacing them with product that is simply not of same standard but still at similar A$ price point - welcome to the world of commercial reality
