What would everyone be doing now if it wasn't for this nightmare?
I would have been in Nouméa again, drinking champagne on the beach of Îlot Canard inbetween snorkelling sorties and watching the sunsets sipping coughtails with friends at the Chateau Royale before dinner at one of many amazing restaurants which cater more to locals than tourists.
On the bright side, I have a new dishwasher instead.
A year without travel is going to pay for a lot of home improvements.
None of them look quite this good, though or be this much fun
.

Those of you that were planning to goto Colmar, when you do eventually get there be sure to explore the rest of the area too e.g. Riquewihr, Ribeauvillé, etc.
Yep, yet another of the things I'd booked (4 wonders of Alsace - the 4 beautiful surrounding towns tour) and that I had to cancel. :/

Not going back to the old world any time soon! Learning to live by oneself and finding happiness from within is the new world!

I would have been in Hong Kong with my brother for our annual boys trip to catch up with friends. 🍻🍻

I've been the last 2 years. I miss Hong Kong ☹

I would have been on the Greek island of Corfu. This week is the lead up to Greek Easter this weekend. There would have been processions and many festivities.

Sharing the collective pain of missed travel, my biggest regret is not being able to meet with US based son and daughter in law in Athens for a holiday on Crete and another Greek island. It was to be followed by a now cancelled Adriatic cruise from Venice(!) and ten days in the UK with a booked table at the Fat Duck......all bloody cancelled. Cannot play golf, cannot go fishing, so joined the huge crowd of bored retirees with no where to go

I would have just arrived back from New York and Las Vegas in J and contemplating my week at the end of May in the Margaret River winery region. 😞

After our Business Class flight from Perth we were supposed now to be on our way to Cambodia where a resort with private pool awaited. Then to KL to visit friends then Singapore Airlines J to Stockholm before a carefully collected set of business class rewards flights to Tbilisi, Almaty, Yerevan and Minsk before back to Stockholm for midsummer and some family birthdays in July.

I still hold out a very slight hope of the Greek Islands which is booked in July - but that hope is fading by the day.

As luck would have it, this year we also booked Business Class to Singapore and Stockholm for Christmas - and I can't even say I'm particularly hopeful about that at this stage.

I've lost a few G's on non-refundable hotels and I've traded a lot of flights for vouchers which may or may not be worth anything.

But still … that private pool would have been nice.

I would pretty much be where I am now in Perth but getting ready to go to PNG on Sunday.

Also preparing and thinking about a lovely holiday in England and Scotland Mrs Tallfont and I were all booked for in July :(

I would be teaching in Zagreb, Croatia then heading to Warsaw, Poland this weekend before the USA next week.

I was just over 1 week into my 3 month RTW tour and stopped to head home before Europe fell over.

Sitting in the Qantas Lounge having a drink before boarding my flight to SF this afternoon. Was to spend a month road trip of the Californian coast with my son who lives over there. Haven’t seen him for over 12 months & the way things are going it will be another 12 before I get to see him again.

Was supposed to leave in 4 weeks for 3 weeks in Spain as a second honeymoon :-(

At least most things are flexible, even non-refundable airfares and accommodation.....everyone so far has been very accommodating (pardon the pun).
Even got gratitude for expressing sympathy for their country and city (Madrid accom), and how sad we were to postpone a year

I wonder if I can get a refund on travel insurance?

I'd still be in Sydney but be getting all excited for a 3 week trip to Thailand which included 9 nights at the Conrad Koh Samui!!

We also had a trip to Singapore and Malaysia (Kuching, Kota Kinabalu, Langkawi and KL) booked for mid-July.

Both trips were booking in QF J during the DSC promo in Feb. Oh well, its all been vouchered and we'll go when safe to do so.

Have you contacted your hotels directly?

My hotels have offered to reschedule dates and one even offered a full refund despite being non-refundable (albeit mine is next month and they cannot host me under Spanish lockdown law)

I'd be getting ready to go to UK next week for niece's wedding (postponed now til next year) with 2 nights in the New Forest on the way to Somerset. Then after time with sister and family was going to Switzerland to see our son and the grandies who we haven't seen for nearly a year. Sad about missing the little ones and looks like it won't happen for a while yet.

Would have been in Dubai for a few days before heading onto Amsterdam for a Dealer meeting and Trade Show (now both cancelled). Have to now attend the Dealer meeting virtually which is not nearly as much fun as drinking fresh Heinekens in Amsterdam. Will also miss the tulips at this time of year......
