Its not much but I'm on my second year of PS in a row all in leisure travel. Being based in Taipei definitely makes ex-TPE runs very easy and attractive! Going to come up just short of SG this year but still a few months to work on that!

40 of my 8,230 LT SC's have been earned from holidays, so I guess for me the answer is no.....

Not as bad, in 2008 I had approx 900 LT SC's earned purely from Personal Travel, since 2008 I have earned 11,000 SC's - 95% work funded. Note: I didn't have status before 2008, unless you consider Qantas club status.

20% is work and 80% is leisure, although the 20% work I actually pay for myself.

Over 100k on the credit card through work; so that helps with JASAs and one FASA.

When you work for yourself(family business) you don't get a lot of time for holidays, my last 3 major holidays have only been for 2 weeks or less, and in each holiday I flew over 20,000 miles so flying is a big part of the holiday.

Off to OSL for a long weekend tomorrow a.m. which will be my 41st and 42nd leisure flights this year. Not a bad 12 months.

Got the sweet spot of a decent job, good boss, no kids and being based in the best travel hub in the world.

Is that a summary? I hope it's not consecutive/contiguous:shock:

Yeah, that's a consolidation so no worries. It's two on / two off with an additional two to give a six week break once a year.
Appreciate the concern though.:)

And that is why you are in Bangkok?

Can I be your replacement when you retire?

Well it does make it feasible but it's more to do with Mme.'thud.
And I've still a few years to go before pulling the pin.

How do you buy 2 extra weeks annual leave?
Where the company offers to give you extra leave in lieu of pay.

Much better than 2 weeks unpaid leave as you still accumulate annual leave and sick days during this time.

Sounds like public service speak

It is I, Leclerc !

i work for a large company that certainly isn't public service and I have the option to purchase/salary sacrifice 1-4 weeks of additional leave a year.

A lot of companies these days offer purchased leave. Makes the blow of unpaid leave easier, as it gets spread across the year. Most also pay it back to you in the event you don't use it during the year. Not all allow you to still accrue annual leave or sick leave whilst taking it though.
