Do you encrypt your data on travelling storage!

The whole point about a USB key is to transfer or transport data quickly and easily. if your encryption system only works on the host notebook it was created on...not much good! Plenty have an auto-launch that starts the encryption program, but like another poster already suggested, these...

Jetstar broke my luggage, can anyone recommend a luggage repair place in central SYD

Re: Jetstar broke my luggage, can anyone recommend a luggage repair place in central It is annoying to have your luggage damaged - it has happened two flights in a row for me now, both Qantas International (LAX-SYD and SYD-ADL)! The correct procedure is to take the damaged item to the special...

Problem claiming QFF points for AA flight?

That got me thinking...I found the boarding pass and found the list of eligible classes on the Qantas web page. Type Q and it is not on the list - Doh!

Problem claiming QFF points for AA flight?

I had 2 US domestic flights on AA at the beginning of November. Maybe I am being impatient, but neither have shown up on the Qantas FF activity statement (unlike hotel and car hire points for the same period). When I try to "Claim Missing Points", I get the error message "We are unable to...

    Qantas Lounge access for family

I have just got back from a trip with 4 people: me (QP), wife, 2 x kids. No problems with lounge access Sydney international (Qantas), LAX (AA domestic), LAX (Oneworld international). Nobody even mentioned it!

Full Body Scanners - Who has an issue being scanned?

I left LAX on Friday with Mrs risky and the kids in tow, and the security check-point included a full-body scanner. I went through the FBS (can't recall any option to bypass it either) apart from the usual US requirement of shoes and belt [btw, I have never had to remove either elsewhere unless...

Hand luggage only - under 7KG with a rollaboard - how?

Nearly all of the times I have flown for work, I have had to check baggage because of tools and equipment; not really any way around that, for weight or content. Laptops are certainly lighter these days, but there is a lot of extra electronics that gets stuffed in the bag. My laptop bag was...

    Pancakes in QF lounges

The Jetstar lounge in Coolangatta has one of the pancake machines, and I have seen it at least once in Sydney QP. I have also seen them in a few hotels in Australia and the US. They are certainly fresh and quite nice with a good dollop of maple syrup, but they aren't exactly culinary...

QP Member travelling AA - Lounge access?

How strict are the AA check-in and/or lounge staff for guests? I guess it is probably out of the question for myself, Mrs risky and risky-kid1 (6) and risky-kid2 (8) to get in on a QP card (LAX, DEN)?

Car Rental Insurance - coverage with Amex Platinum Edge travel insurance?

Does the Amex Platinum Edge travel insurance provide any sort of cover for rental car hire? This is the insurance document (secure*cmax*americanexpress*com|Internet|International|japa|AU_en|Personal|shared|files|Platinum_Edge_Insurance.pdf [sorry - you'll have to put in the dots and slashes...

Avis has jammed up its prices?

Interesting - I have the exact reverse. In my Avis profile, all insurance options are greyed out and cannot be selected at all. I believe that is because my employer AWD number is included and all insurance is specifically rejected because they are self-insured.

Does anyone have a Platinum Edge card? At my wits end with AMEX!

I changed from a Gold Amex to the Platinum Edge Amex via my professional organisation (with the discounted yearly fee). The 20000 bonus points turned up apparently on time, and the 3-2-1 bonus points has seen points growth rate increase nicely! The points I still had on the Gold card seemed to...

    Hi and Thanks

My Choice magazine arrived today and there was an article on Frequent Flyer schemes - and Australian Frequent Flyer featured prominently! It seems to me that the quality of Qantas is gradually eroding so that it moves closer to the low-cost carriers like Jetstar. And unfortunately, that is...
