The day you qualify! - well actually technically from the time the SC's are posted to your account and then you hold that status for the full year of your next membership year

In reply to your two points: You say its not the "best" form to ask a complete stranger in the lounge to guest someone else in when you're on a Guest pass yourself - I'd say it would be more appropriate to say its not "acceptable" form. Wonder what the louunge staff think if a member rolls up...
