CX138 departing SYD for HKG just now, 17 mins past 1pm curfew. CX139 from HKG arrived 2 hours late at 2205. Quick turn-around though!

Yes, happened last week as well. Two pax before me were turned around and sent to check-in their carry-on luggage. This is an enhancement that I DO NOT want to see in practice...

My PC+ ones WLG - SYD return on QF metal booked via AM/MP came through instantly. I hope we did not give them ideas to improve their algorithms by talking about it here 😬

Does Anyone know why QF6 from PER to FCO diverted and landed in DXB overnight? Medical? Also, has anyone noticed QF9K flights on F24 from SYD to Manila with a DASH8??? They seem to frequently divert to OAG (weather?). Is that a routine/paint job up in MNL?

Yeah - and that is the issue. I did the Citizenship test while still in Australia, but now posted overseas but invited to the ceremony in my "former" council. I have no issues with that, and have already tickets booked etc. The issue I have is I have to wait with an indefinite timeline to return...

It's worth a try. As I have reported elsewhere, CX/MP award bookings on Qantas, and then changing to my QFF# gave me SCs via PC+. Now, obviously, QR is not QF metal, so the SC part might not work. But we all know that there are some glitches ... (and we don't report them here explicitly).

Right, so for TK (or any other Turkish based (?) airline for that matter, flying non-stop ex-IST to Australia) this won’t be an issue at this stage capacitywise due to the existing, unused agreement but is obviously subject to yet to be granted AUS Government approval?

Is there a thread about how this impacts TK? Or have people written about it in this thread?

QF1 delayed to 2115 today. Do they miss an A380 on the ground in SYD? QF7 to SCL departed 1 1/2 hours late. QF81 in the air with an A330 & return flight now shows as not cancelled tonight.

Lots of aircrafts that departed late/were delayed up to 2 hours tonight, presumably due to the MH incident and the subsequent closure of SYD’s main runway. However, the crown seems to go to QF75 with a 3+ hours delay and a departure around 2340 post curfew.

Yes, I dealt with that before with SQ departing ZRH for SYD via SIN, as we couldn't find my sons Aussie passport (don't ask...). The supervisor at SQ check-in luckily knew how to deal with the issue and actually had a number to get straight through to the right ABF department. ABF cleared my son...

Thanks - these considerations are extremely helpful. Now, I am very much inclined to go down the route that you describe which essentially is leaving the next morning on my current non-AU passport, having a friendly chat with the ABF incl. showing them my citizenship certificate, my new work...
