How do you get that deal? :)

I get it through my union - but a lot of professional associations now offer the same discounts. If you're a member of any union or professional organisation (or even a financial planner I saw was offering them too!), they might offer it as a benefit of membership.

API is another source...

So has anyone had their final points yet?

Given that Amex dont tend to post points over the weekend are we expecting a rush of points on Friday?

Still waiting on the last of the bonii.

Meantime I'm building up Citi Plat points to round them off to the exact 15k threshold for rolling them maybe into Velocity's promo.

I'd rather have Citi points 'in the hand' than trust Amex. I fear they'll play the '10 weeks from the end of the month game' or say people's accounts 'aren't in good stead' or say 'gee you ain't bought coffee in January'.

Besides, I think the V promo will be great - they've snaffled 5 slots in Orange County/John Wayne and offer $59 flights to SFO. How far is John Wayne Airport from Disneyland?

20 minutes give or take 5...

Only 3 days to D-Day.

Unless Amex plan on a busy day come Saturday I am hoping points will come through on Friday

...If they keep there word that is

No further postings since 31 Dec. Am hoping for Friday, but wondering if they will extend it to 2/2 as the 31 is on Saturday.

I want to trust them, but they've bitten too many people for no reason too often for too long.

M'thinks the 2010 trip will be Syd-HNL-LAX; schuttle to Disneyland. Alaskan to SFO. Schuttle to Tahoe. Back to SFO, and Vamerica to LAX for the rturn on Vaustralia.

In my experience points post on Saturday as well, so wouldn't be surprised if the points don't post until then (well I wouldn't be surprised if points fail to post properly either - but I guess we'll see soon enough!).

I still have - just not bothering to go into town to a coffee shop that sells coffee on Amex now - I'm going for the local coffee shop.

No final points for me yet. I am in the same position that you were but am yet to hear from the ombudsman (except to say that they have received my evidence and will advise me on their actions in the future) - I guess they had a bit of a flood in the week that I waited before contacting them. Amex are also yet to reply to either of my two letters sent by registered post.

Still, I expect that Amex will post points owing up to November on Friday (though in my case on the 10T/5K), but only time will tell.

I was under the impression from Amex CSR's, and others in this forum, that ALL outstanding points based on your current promo level, would be paid by 31 January....

That is what Amex advised me in writing...

Indeed, that is what some have been told (and some have the ombudsman on their side to ensure it happens). Still, I doubt that people who have not been promised complete payouts will get them on Dec 31, the Ts&Cs say 8-10 weeks and Amex hasn't exactly been outperforming of late.

Well that should read "all outstanding points from Amex's perspective", which maybe quite different to the points some members believe are owing as per the original promotion.

well thats what I meant by "current" as promo levels may change pending appeals or BFSO action, but your wording works as well! :)

Those who have 'been there, done that and won' have posted their suggestion to just go direct to the bfso.

Once again - after following due course with Amex. Please stop suggesting people should go straight to the BFSO as this is plain inaccurate information.

Those assisted by the government-assisted local community legal service and their pro bono lawyers went a different route: FOS sent their letters onto Amex whilst the FOS went thru its processes of opening a file and sending out an Authority form. It seemed to work very effficiently. But those linear thinkers who waited can't access the law firms' now-concluded summer clerk program or get bonii in time for V's promo.

I spoke to service rep last night and they told me the marketing team had sent the reps a bulletin to advise all callers their points will be posted by Jan 31st.The advice I was given is that if nothing happens by the 31st, call back and ask for a 'marketing escalation', as the rep didn't feel confident the MR team would manually complete the backlog in time. Even their staff don't believe it....ouch!
