10,000 Bonus Points With New OnePath/ANZ Life Insurance

Yes, today!...just cancelled my policy 5 mins ago. However, my +1 has not received any QF pts for this policy....I give up with this company!:shock: I ask the Q, "How the hell can you trust this company to pay up if you need to actually claim on your insurance???"

Could it be that you only had 1 policy, therefore you got your 10,000 bonus points without any delay? I believe that the delay involves those with up to 4 policies and OnePath requires more time to contemplate on the next steps (ie. whether to award 10,000 bonus point or up to 40,000 bonus points).

I had 2 policies and my +1 had 2 as well. The first 10K came through for each of us without any trouble; after a few phone calls, my second 10K came through yesterday but no sign of my +1s 2nd lot of 10K. Anyway, we have cancelled all 4 policies now, and we have got 3 lots of 10K; the last 10K I think is a lost cause and I can't be bothered chasing it anymore. I'm glad to be rid of all Onepath policies, and am glad my long term insurance policies are not with them!!

I shall be canceling on Monday and hopefully chasing them up for the missing 10k points too, then I'll be rid of them too. I'm finding it very hard to spend my cheap points though. I just want to hang onto them still! :p

Have had 1/2 in my name come through and 0/3 for my wife, not a happy chappy! Nasty letter coming up.

I didn't have any trouble cancelling over the phone. They sent 4 individual letters confirming each policy cancellation. I didn't keep track of if they debited too much money or not.

Has anybody received the 10,000 bonus points for taking out Accident Cover Plus?

I sent an email about missing points and they replied saying they were crediting the other 3 policies but informed me that the Accident Cover Plus was not eligible for the 10,000 bonus points, only ongoing points per dollar. The terms and conditions are very vague as they never mention a policy by name only referring to eligible policies in general terms as "Term Life" and "Accidental Death" (and never anything in the terms relating to 10,000 points)

‘Eligible OnePath Insurance Policies’ are life insurance
policies issued by OnePath (sold with or without the assistance
of a licensed financial adviser) including:

•• Term Life;
•• Income Protection;
•• Trauma;
•• Accidental Death;
•• Total & Permanent Disability; and
•• ‘ANZ’ branded life insurance policies,

Accident Cover Plus is clearly Accidental Death coverage in my opinion.

Did anyone actually keep the Terms and Conditions, because there is one condition in here that has appeared to have been changed and I know I wasn't informed.

5. Can bonus Qantas Frequent Flyer points
be awarded?
Points or Bonus Points may be earned through promotions and
incentives offered by OnePath from time to time. Particular
conditions may apply to each promotion or incentive (e.g. you
might need to hold and pay premiums of your Eligible OnePath
Insurance Policy for more than six consecutive months). Details
of these promotions and incentives, including any conditions
that may apply, will be notified to Policy Owners or potential
Policy Owners at the relevant time.
You can earn Bonus Points on more than one Eligible OnePath
insurance policy. However, if you earn Bonus Points as part of
a special offer when acquiring an Eligible OnePath insurance
policy (Acquisition Offer), unless otherwise stated in the terms
of the particular offer, the maximum number of Bonus Points
you can earn through Acquisition Offers is capped at 20,000
Bonus Points per Customer. Further, if you acquire more than
one Eligible OnePath insurance policy with the same Product
Name, you are only eligible to be credited with Bonus Points
available as part of an acquisition incentive once.

I was a little bit late on to this one, but I ended up taking out 6 policies, 4 for myself, and 2 for my girlfriend. As of present I have paid 2 months worth of premiums and am going to cancel my policies after I have paid the 3rd month, making sure I satisfy the requirement of holding the premiums for a minimum of 2 months.

The annoying thing at the moment is that I have had only 2 out of my 4 policies post the monthly premium points to my QFF account (I have already called and confirmed my QFF number was on all 4 of my policies), my girlfriend has had both her 2 post to her QFF account. Has anyone else had this occur?

Going from everyones experiences on here it looks like I will then have a battle to get the 10,000 bonus points for each policy, but it is good to know they are crediting to my QFF account as a start, which is annoying with the 2 policies that aren't.

That is definitely different to what it was when I signed up. I have a print screen of the QFF page with the conditions at the bottom and the OnePath screen with the 4 policies listed, but stupidly didn't keep a copy of the terms and conditions which I actually looked at.

Enough is enough.

Formal complaint now raised with NSW Dept. of Fair Trading with respect to bonus points not being paid, and failure to cease charging my credit card when directed.

Will let you know how that goes.

Ok I just went through the link on the QFF site to the Terms and Conditions and that document has definitely changed (with no notification to existing customers). It is generally the same but it is now properly formatted and in 'brochure style'. The original one I read was just a plain document with none of the associated branding and number 5 in the conditions was definitely not worded how it is now. Would be greatly appreciated if someone has a copy of the original pdf saved somewhere, cause this could get messy!

Note the terms and conditions were July 1 dated, the old ones are here:

Thanks markis10, that was the one I read when I signed up. AFF members will come through on top with this one I am sure, it is amazing the info everyone has on here!

Well that didn't take long! Got a call from DFT this morning: they spoke with customer service at OnePath, and I gather they were not overly impressed with the evasiveness of some of OnePath's responses. They did, however, get an assurance that both my policies were no longer active, and that any premiums deducted after I wrote to them would be refunded.

On the matter of unpaid bonuses, OnePath advised DFT that they have someone now working on checking the status of Qantas bonuses, and made a commitment to DFT that they will get back to me in writing within five business days.

The girl from DFT was brilliant, and said that if I was not happy with the response from OnePath, to get back to her and they would follow it up.

I would suggest that if any other AFF members have bonuses outstanding, you should also lodge an online complaint with NSW-DFT. If DFT start to get a number of complaints from people who have not been awarded bonuses, then maybe OnePath will take this seriously. This is the website I used. Good luck!

Has anyone had more than two lots of 10K?

Forgive my ignorance for asking this question. I've read through a few pages of the thread and I think I know the answer but I wanted to check with everyone if i'm correct.

Is it still worthwhile signing up for this and taking out a few polices at $20-30 a month in the hope of getting the 10K bonus points? I don't actually need the insurance as I already have same but i won't say no to 10K bonus points.

It looks like the promo is still valid but it sounds like I might have a few hassles extracting the bonus from them though. Do I get any proof of providing my QF number if i apply online or is it better to do over the phone?

My 2c: For $8/month x 2, maybe 3 months to be safe, the first 10,000 point bonus is pretty much a sure thing. Beyond that, you may have to work for it.
