If I were you, I would assume the favourable interpretation and have them to prove otherwise if you don't get bonus points for each new policy taken up. I wouldn't lose sleep over it, they may though if the T&C is not as tight as they intended it to be.

Don't worry I won't lose any sleep over it.;)

However I have had numerous instances of having to argue my case to get points promised, and so I just like to understand my position.

That confused me as well, you bolded the wrong bit, these policies are OnePath policies not OneCare (OneCare is not mentioned once in the policy document or on the website, I'm assuming it's a different set of policies).

You can't get a quote for them, although they are mentioned in various places around the website e.g. Income Protection Insurance I OnePath Insurance

I'm inferring from the wording in various places they're products that are sold through advisers, which would explain the reason for exclusion as Onepath is paying more in commission to the advisers, instead of being able to pass this benefit on to you.

Hi,

Just a couple of things:

Please note, only premiums paid after OnePath have your Qantas Frequent Flyer membership number will qualify for Points.
Not sure if that means you need to wait 2 months after giving your FF number

OnePath may cancel or suspend Points in a Points Record (Points that are held before they are credited to Qantas Frequent Flyer) if the policy is, or is reasonably suspected by OnePath to be, operated fraudulently. Once Points are credited to your Qantas Frequent Flyer program account they may be reversed if you were not entitled to them under these Terms and Conditions, and the terms and conditions of the Qantas Frequent Flyer program will also apply.
Dont lie about your occupation

What was the outcome re: multiple policies? Did anyone get 10k per policy? I actually need income insurance, so this deal is pretty sweet for me...

Hi,

There is no issues with having multiple policies however the points issue will remain unconfirmed for at least a month I suspect given its a two month period before points MAY be credited.

It's coming to one week since I applied and paid for my policies using my Amex but the payment has yet to appear on my online credit card statement. Is anyone else experiencing the same issue? Now I'm not sure if my applications were properly processed.

It's quite possibly in the PDS somewhere that debits will only be charged x day of the month... I haven't read through it myself to check though.

These guys seem quite disorganised. Still haven't received an email with login details for the self service website.

Applied for 1st Policy on 16 Jan - Charge Applied on 17 Jan for period 16012011 - 16012049 - the amount was $4.10

Second Policy charged next day also for random amount and period, must be some kind of pro-rata

OK well I just got emailed my user id.

Pity that when I log in I get:

We apologise that access to this facility is currently unavailable.
Please try again later.

Good grief.

Well... Like the proverbial sheep I too have signed myself up for the basic Life insurance option.

Unlike most in this thread, however, I will most likely keep paying the $11/month for the illness and accident option that I chose to include. For me the price of a cheap lunch, once a month, is a reasonable cost for what it provides should anything happen.

I will also look to sign up my wife this evening (so that I can make sure all answers to the questions asked are correct) and hopefully get 20,000 closer to the next RTW Award :-)

Called them up today and played dumb, they told me the bonus 10,000 would be credited after 2 months, and that the month by month fee should be points matched to the QFF acoount as you go along (this has not happened in my case, but I am not going to chase up 8 points!)

Also tried some probing questions in terms of multiple policies and the same QFF number, he seemed to think it wasn't ok. I have signed up twice so you never know your luck!

The terms and conditions of the normal QFF credits state:

The Points you earn will be credited to your Qantas Frequent Flyer program account after each statement period, which usually takes up to eight weeks from when you pay your Eligible OnePath Insurance Policy premium, unless otherwise advised.

I think that its fair to assume its unlimited, but time will tell. At $16 per 10K, its not a bad risk!

If you go down the "Accident Cover Plus" policy - you cant get more than 20 policies, as it specially says no one can be insured for more than $1m under the scheme (not policy).

So $50,000 x 20 = $1m

But thats still $320 = 200k points

And you have three other policy types to include as well, if you are that keen, unless the scheme is also covering the income protection etc!

I signed up online last week and my credit card with charged 2 days later.
Hubby signed up the day after me and his premium is yet to be billed to the credit card.

May ring them this week to sort it out.

FYI I called them and checked - you definetely get 10k per policy. So at the minimum you can get 40k from the 4 eligable polcies - and you can try for more if you double up(that's the only bit they might have a problem with - I didnt directly ask that question).

well tse, that is good news, just wish we could get it in writing somewhere rather than call up each time and get a different person with a different view or no clue... and establish for sure it is company policy...

but again, good stuff...
