hmmm, hard to know if they are changing it now to what it was earlier... but the point i would just liked confirmed is if its one 10,000 points per card or 10,000 points per each of the 4 policies which the original T&C did not rule out...

That is my point. It is not defined.

You could read it as being 10,000 points in total...or per eligible policy.
The wording is imprecise and open to interpretation.

What is defined is that you earn QFF points per $ spent. That part is defined.
The awarding of the 10,000 is not defined.

As an insurance company, it would be fair to assume that OnePath would have the T&Cs for bonus points clearly defined ... such a shame that they're keeping them away from prying eyes. ;)

On a different strand in this thread, I applied for - what I trust will be - eligible cover on 28th January. My credit card was debited on 8th February. And yes, the 10K points have yet to arrive.

From what is written there is no doubt that if you take out one of the eligible policies for two months that you will get 10,000 points.

What is not defined is what happens if you take out 2 or more.

The page also has a link for existing customers. So if one takes out one policy...does that make you an existing customer when you apply for the second (or more)?

However the T&C on awarding the 10,000 points is actually not defined

Yes it is:

* The bonus 10,000 points offer is not available for new policies within the OneCare range of products and is only available to customers who: (a) apply for a new eligible OnePath policy with OnePath directly, either online via qantas.com/lifeinsurance or over the phone by calling 1300 379 693; (b) hold the eligible OnePath policy for a minimum period of two months; and (c) supply their Qantas Frequent Flyer membership details to OnePath within 30 days of taking up the eligible OnePath policy. Bonus Qantas Frequent Flyer points may take up to four months to be credited to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account.

What is not defined is what happens if you take out 2 or more.
You can take out all 4 and get 40k points - its been confirmed on the phone (yes - not in writing, but it'll be easy to argue the point).

You are confusing this with the OTHER promotion they are running - where you can get 1 Qantas FF per $1 spent on the policy (on top of your CC points). So thats for existing customers to link their policy to get the additional points

Thanks for your verbal confirmation.

And while I do not doubt you, I am wary of what companies say over the phone. In writing is always best. however in this case given the poorly worded promos you would think that Onepath would stump up 4 x 10 even if that was not their intent.

For example I am chasing up2 by 10,000 points from another promotion. I was told over the phone that points would post automatically. Instead of 3 by 10,000 points I currently have only had 1 x 10000 post.

However while I was told over the phone I also got a confirming email before I proceeded having had quite a number of like promos in the past. So because I have that I have no doubt that I will get the extra 20,000.

T&C if defined are one's friend in case of dispute. Not being defined means that certainty is removed. I have regularly used T&C to gain points that were not awarded when they should have been.

I am not confused.

Whether you are new or old you get points per $.

It is also the one promotion. It just has different aspects and more generous to new customers.

Pardon my pessimism, but what this promotion lacks is clearly defined T&Cs. I do, in all sincerity, look forward to the first report of multiple bonus points posting from multiple policies, rather than speculation regarding same.

At least that part is defined, the bonus is paid two months after you take out the policy!

I bought 4 policies all up.

Myself

Accident Cover Plus: $8.15 per month
EasyProtect Life: $10.34 per month
+1
Accident Cover Plus: $8.15 per month
EasyProtect Life: $7.84 per month

....so for around $70 for 2 months, we SHOULD get 40000 QF pts:idea:

BUT why do I have this sinking feeling that we'll not get the points without a fight...:evil:?

I agree. I also did the same as you (a little less on some of the policies, but about the same overall) and fear we're going to have to fight for them unfortunately.

Me too, and I'm ready for a fight if it comes to it ...

You should be getting 40070 to be precise :D:D:cool:

The T&C are clear on the 10,000 points and it is not related to being a new or old customer. The points are award for a new eligible policy (plus the qualifying period, etc.). An eligible policy is clearly defined.

Therefore, get a new eligible policy and keep it for 2 months and you get the bonus.

Hmmm, I tend to be more a lover than a fighter, so i might have to wait for the results of any knock down, drag 'em out with some of the better scrappers on here if they do want to get belligerent... :)

I know that eligible policies are clearly defined and indeed I have in this thread provided a list of them. That is not the issue. What is lacking in the T&C is a definitive statement that 10000 points are awarded per EVERY eligible policy taken out.

If you have tracked this wording down please post a link as many of us are seeking it.

IMO the T&C are not clear. I agree that one can interpret them as you have. But equally one could interpret it to mean that you can get 10000 points in total and not per policy.

It does not state that it is 10000 points for each and every policy.

It does not state what occurs if you take out more than one policy with respect to the 10000 points.

It just mentions 10000 points and does not indicate if it is can be coughulative, or is in total.

So from the wording all that is clear to me is that I will gain t least 10000 pints. whether I will definitely earn multiples of 10000 is not defined, or at least not that I have read.

I would tend to believe that you would gain 10000 points per policy. But I do not know.

Also what if one tried to take out more than one of each type? T&C is mute.

By the same token there is no definitive statement to exclude earning the bonus everytime you fulfill the eligibility conditions. I might have another look at wording when I get a chance.

I cannot believe that I missed this thread for so many days altogether.

I better start applying now!!!!!!!

Where have u been Edison???

but yes, its all a very circular argument as to the 1x10k to 4x10k... (if its multiple there are even more opportunities...)

maybe i will try and call them again tomorrow and be a bit like advice i have had for calling and booking award fares on Qantas and not pay the assisted booking fee, just keep calling back till u get one who says what your looking for and ask for it in writing from them...

I just looked at QFF conditions and it says:

7. Can my Qantas Frequent Flyer points be cancelled?

OnePath may cancel or suspend Points in a Points Record (Points that are held before they are credited to Qantas Frequent Flyer) if the policy is, or is reasonably suspected by OnePath to be, operated fraudulently. Once Points are credited to your Qantas Frequent Flyer program account they may be reversed if you were not entitled to them under these Terms and Conditions, and the terms and conditions of the Qantas Frequent Flyer program will also apply.
Points in a Points Record at the time of death of the Policy Owner will be cancelled, and may not be claimed by any other person.

So watch out anyone who tries to sign up "1000x" policies for millions of points .....
