Re: QFF points for gift vouchers

You can buy a voucher in your name and then change the name at booking phase

Re: QFF points for gift vouchers

a quick couple of questions about vouchers that someone on here will bound to be able to answer (more reliably than customer service)

1. Can you use the vouchers to redeem on qantas codeshare flights. (eg operated by NF but booking with a QF flight no) (although i'm unable to find NF flights on the 'enhanced' website at the moment (but can book them on mobile))

2. As i generally book all of my flights when there is a good sale on, is it possible to book the next trip with the voucher before flying the first one ..... eg buy a $500 voucher and then on the same day buy 3 different trips with said voucher?

3. Can i redeem via mobile?

1. Don't know

2. Yes, depending on the timing for issuing the remaining value voucher and when it is useable. (Yes, in theory, think it might be difficult in practice)

3. Don't know, doubt it's possible.

Re: QFF points for gift vouchers

I guess what I was referring to with

" As i generally book all of my flights when there is a good sale on, is it possible to book the next trip with the voucher before flying the first one ..... eg buy a $500 voucher and then on the same day buy 3 different trips with said voucher?"

I mean to ask that I don't have to complete the trip before being able to use the residual voucher (ie is the residual voucher issued when making the booking or when completing the travel)

Re: QFF points for gift vouchers

Yes, you could do that.

No, you do not have to fly the already booked trip. The residual voucher is issued with a new booking reference for the remaining value. As such there is no real linkage of the flights between each subsequent voucher.

Re: QFF points for gift vouchers

These gift vouchers were looking pretty good until I read the fine print "..international travel departing Australia". Well... that's a little annoying.

1. You should be able to book any one-way flight or return flight from the Australian Qantas website.

2. The flights booked with the voucher do not need to be in any particular order

3. Not sure.

Re: QFF points for gift vouchers

I'm new to this forum and new to this offer, so hi! I plan on making ~10 return BNE-PER flights in 2014. The individual cost of each return will vary between $400 and $700 depending on what deals (if any) Qantas have running at the time of booking. Just a few questions.

1. Earlier in the thread a poster mentioned being able to stack up multiple vouchers into one booking despite the T&C saying otherwise. Has anyone had experience with trying to do this?

2. If I can stack multiple vouchers, I'd be better off buying more vouchers of smaller denominations (i.e. 35 x $200). If stacking isn't possible, I'll just grab ~15 x $500 vouchers. If there is excess balance on the booking, is it a straightforward processing paying the balance with a mastercard?

3. Say I use a $500 voucher for a BNE-SYD flight and a balance remains on the voucher. Does the re-balanced voucher get distributed via e-mail or post-mail?

1. That's not possible except in only very limited circumstances, and the only report I've heard of it was when Qantas staff offered.

2. Plan to get one voucher per booking. Not sure why you'd get 15 vouchers, if you only need 10 flights. Remember the full value has to be used within 12 months of purchase.

3. The residual value is transferred to a new voucher that is sent by email. All you need is the booking reference. It is possible that the new voucher reference is provided immediately online. If so just note down the voucher reference.

Re: QFF points for gift vouchers

Question: To confirm: If one is redeeming an Award Flight, can one use these Gift Vouchers to pay the Taxes & Charges?

Welcome to AFF cburgs!

Dont count on it.

PER is a difficult one. See if you can somehow predict what the airfares will cost and then split it down to one-way flights and purchase vouchers accordingly.

If you just purchase $500 vouchers and the return flight is $420 then what do you do with the $80 residual value? Use it towards a $200 flight? Then your theory of ~15 x $500 would be out. You may find that it would be bet to purchase say ~5 x $500 and ~10 x $200 for those cheaper one-ways.

3. Say I use a $500 voucher for a BNE-SYD flight and a balance remains on the voucher. Does the re-balanced voucher get distributed via e-mail or post-mail?
The residual value is returned via e-mail a few minutes later with a new booking reference.

Re: QFF points for gift vouchers

I think I already know the answer, but wondered whether the vouchers could be used on Jetstar? Thinking its a great way for my brother to see my mother more often (TSV - SYD). He hates having to transit in BNE on QF.

If the flight is offered on Qantas then I do not see any reason why you could not use the vouchers.

I dont have any vouchers right now but if anyone has a voucher they could easily check for you.
