Prepaying everything while the Aussie $ is about 82c and to get the KF miles.

While the rest is a good earn, if any of this last part is overseas spend then note that the coughulative fees on the KF Card are horrendous.

So out of interest, what type of Amex do you have that the PC referred to?

I have a Platinum C/C. It was a "loyalty bonus". Basically received a postcard saying I had been given 2,000 bonus points and that I didn't even have to do anything for them.

However that would not appear then to be "the card" that was meant to be earning the 1000 points for 5 tx bonus then.


So the mystery remains as to which card was meant to earn this bonus.

Hmmm, all apparent good promo's must come to an end, when it comes to Amex. Usually because of an internal stuff up, so this one appears no different

Up to 27 transactions as at yesterday and still only 2K bonus points, so I'm not expecting any more (but I'd love to see them try and take away).

Haven't spent any more than normal (other than on upcoming holiday accom), so no adverse affect to me.

Same here. The extra walking I had to do on the other hand... Optimising AMEX promos should be considered a cardiovascular activity.

I am not earning my bonus 0.5 points per transaction at the moment, and haven't for the past 5 or so days......

I did have a few refunds in there so I am not sure what is happening.

I only ask because the 'default' Plat earning rate should be 1.5 points per $, or at least if I had an Amex from Engineers Australia that's what they'd give me (until I spend $100,000 , over which it is then back to 1 point per $).

On the Plat you earn 1.5 points however on the statement it shows as 1 base point per tx with a 0.5 bonus.

Although, they left 3,000 bonus points still in my account???

IOnterestingly had 2000pts (2x1000) but only 1000 removed, wonder if another 1000 will go shortly?

At least they could have copped it on the chin and wrote saying "recently you got awarded x points by error and as a goodwill and your loyalty to Amex, would like you to keep the bonus points earnt"

The moment a VISA card comes out with 1.5 points for transfer to QF, DJ and SQ I would drop Amex in an instant!
