Looks like the stay points have arrived for my second 5000 points booking, but the 5000 bonus hasn't arrived yet... baby steps... baby steps...

If you pay for a hotel with points do you still earn points for the stay?

Edit - just found the answer to that question - NO. Looks like that mistake will have cost me a lot of points as I had 2x bookings that I paid for with points that would have also scored QBR 2000 point bonuses as well - dammit!

But if you part-pay with points you will still earn points on the cash portion. It is just like if you use a discount voucher - no points on the voucher part but still get points on the cash part. No idea how that plays out for bonuses.

BTW does anyone know if hotel stay points or the 5000 point bonuses get "deposited" in our QFF accounts at a certain time each day or do they just randomly appear throughout the day?

Some success on the email request

Hi CaptJCool

Thank you for contacting Qantas Hotels.

After review of the booking details I can confirm Bonus points are yet to be awarded. Please note it can take up to 8 weeks after checkout date for points to be reflecting in your account.

If points are still not reflecting in your account after 8 weeks, please reply to this email so we can investigate

given the lockdown about changing FF numbers after 4 weeks and the experience of points arrival one month after checkout (and they consistently have) the 8 weeks is a bit of a furphy - in my case, the dispute was likely on the timing of the booking which is only hours inside the specified booking period, and checkout being 2 August and it now being 20 September (51 days which is 7 weeks and 3 days) which means they were not in the pipeline since the other LATER booking had already seen the 5,000 points lob onto my account (AT around the 4-5 week mark post checkout)

the early bookings checked in late July / early August ought be done by now but of course later bookings may still not be checkedin or no showed...
