Re: Oz Federal Election 2013 - Discussion and Comments

Whether Uncle Rupert decides to do a similar hatchet job on them will be the biggest factor. I'm going to take a stab in the dark and go with "no" on that one, at least for a couple of terms.

Will Uncle Rupert be alive in 6 years?

Re: Oz Federal Election 2013 - Discussion and Comments

A lot of men also missed out on cabinet positions. Does that make them incompetent as well?

Yes, by definition, all politicians are incompetent.
Given that people will be promoted to their level of incompetence, we would have to say that the males in the Government are much more incompetent than the females, as very few females were promoted to the Ministry.

Re: Oz Federal Election 2013 - Discussion and Comments

medhead,

Fortunately or unfortunately, depending upon your political persuasions, Tony Abbott is the PM for the next three years.

My challenge to you is to accept this and then comment on and discuss the good and/or bad things that he actually does during the period of his PMship.

My challenge to you is to READ MY POST. Then you might just see that I have commented on something Abbott has done.

Stop indicating I am not accepting of the election result. My post has nothing to do with the election result.

[TD]There have been quite a few reports of "Bad Post"s in this thread with a general theme that a post expressing a contrary view/opinion to that of another member is being considered to be being aggressive to that member and hence, be outside the ToS for this site.

The moderation team believe this view is incorrect; it is a public forum and it is not really possible to have a proper debate without such disagreement. That is fine as long as it it expressed in a civil manner.

In posting that, many posts have indeed been removed or edited due to their content.

To summarise, simple disagreement and posting so, is not, of itself, outside the ToS of this site.

Please feel free to report "bad posts" if they do breach the ToS for this site. Please note however, that ongoing use of this facility by a member to report posts based on simple disagreement may result in sanction to that member as being disruptive.

No-one is forced to read, post or respond to anything in this thread - if you do not like the subject, then feel free to stay away.

Do we know who is making these false claims or are they doing it anonymously?

Members don't know who, however the Moderators do - it's not anonymous (to us) when somebody reports a post.

Seems that the warning has been headed ;)

OK. Thanks.

Anyway, there's always the Ignore List available.

Looks like Clive is the new member for Fairfax +111 with bugger all left to count.

Probably be a recount however, with the (reported) 50 people watching every move the AEC has done - I'd say the seat is his.

Fisher had to suffer Slipper.....now we have to put up with Clive:(

I've never reported a post on this thread. I've very much wanted to though and not because someone simply didn't agree with me.

I know....I live in Fairfax:(

You need to read the post again!

Where did this come from? Does this now mean that we all have to declare our hand?

:shock::shock::shock:

The bit in BOLD is a hint;)

I have. There's nothing in that post about you living in Fairfax.

Re: Oz Federal Election 2013 - Discussion and Comments

She's hopeless at least Bob Brown came across as someone who was passionate about his beliefs and genuinely cared for the environment. She's just a rabid left winger who wants to tax everything.
Bob Brown has a long history in environmental action. His credentials there are impeccable. He's also a lovely man who was able to perform effectively in the political arena - not something you see often.

His replacement is none of these things.

:D

You didn't bold anything originally. Anyway, we is very general, such as we, the people of Australia, for example.

Anyway, looks like the voters of Fisher got who they deserved. :D And Fairfax. :D.

Also, apologies if I misunderstood.

How unfair. I don't think that she wants to tax everything. ;)
