Re: Oz Federal Election 2013 - Discussion and Comments

So let's examine your politics (sic).

<snip>

Keeping the policies that lost you an election will result in you losing more elections. Simple stuff really.

Re: Oz Federal Election 2013 - Discussion and Comments

Bishop is more committed to Foreign Affairs than the other chappie who lasted how long before he quit?

She looked confident chairing the security council meeting.

I won't rise to the bait and call you for what you are. People who refuse to answer questions and try to distract with irrelevancies are quickly exposed.

Don't mistake winning an election with winning the moral or factual debate - case in point here is you and your team won the former and are woefully inept at the latter.

I agree - she did a fine job considering she had to hit the ground running. And I was glad that she swallowed her pride and didn't refuse the postion out of a misguided sense of principle.

Arguments on this forum are no fun ....

^^^^^^^^

Why would I bother answering your questions:confused:

Hasn't stopped you before.....

Totally agree. Your post (above) clearly exposes why you joined AFF. Irrelevant in the extreme!

LOL they're politicians - not school boy debating teams.

I worry how you're going to cope with the 3 hopefully 4 terms that Tony is going to be sitting in the big chair.

I can see now you haven't quite grasped the conventions of this forum in general, and this topic in particular.

No - strike that. I have just realised that you don't "bother" answering my questions simply because you can't.

LOL it's Australian Frequent Flyer not Australian Frequent Arguers! You're the one that posted that arguing on this forum is no fun:idea:

Why anyone would go to the bother of signing up to a forum and then bag it because the arguments aren't fun:confused:

This article is about internet slang. For other uses, see Troll (disambiguation).

In Internet slang, a troll (/ˈtrl/, /ˈtrɒl/) is a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people,[SUP][1][/SUP] by posting inflammatory,[SUP][2][/SUP] extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a forum, chat room, or blog), either accidentally[SUP][3][/SUP][SUP][4][/SUP] or with the deliberate intent of provoking readers into an emotional response[SUP][5][/SUP] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.[SUP][6][/SUP]
This sense of the word troll and its associated verb trolling are associated with Internet discourse, but have been used more widely. Media attention in recent years has equated trolling with online harassment. For example, mass media has used troll to describe "a person who defaces Internet tribute sites with the aim of causing grief to families."[SUP][7][/SUP][SUP][8][/SUP]

It's true. School boy debating teams tend to be civil and deal with facts.

I worry how you're going to cope with the 3 hopefully 4 terms that Tony is going to be sitting in the big chair.
Abbot has inherited an upcoming economic catastrophe (and I can't think of anyone more deserving). He won't survive when it hits, though the Coalition may hold on by replacing him with Turnbull.

Re: Oz Federal Election 2013 - Discussion and Comments

Yes, but they've had six years to prepare for it.

Time to prepare does not necessarily equate to good government - the ALP had about 11-12 years to prepare when they were elected in 2007.....

And proceeded to govern almost indistinguishably from the Coalition before them.

You can't prepare for something unless you are fully informed of the facts. I didn't see labor throwing open the books for everyone to assess the true extent of the debacle they created.

Actually I think things are picking up since the election people are certainly spending more. I suppose it's because they have more confidence in the government and that the housing market is rising again.

Does the term "hoist by your own petard" mean anything to you? No?? Let me explain .... you have just libelled me as a troll whereas the definition more fits your behaviour.

For your homework you should research the Monty Python Argument Sketch.

And here's that question one more time because I would hate for you to not ignore it again - do you think putting a price on pollution is a bad thing?

Do you have any facts on which to base your assertions? Or do you simply subscribe to the Abbott policy " ignore the facts, just spew forth the same old lies over and over and eventually the dumb public will accept them as truth"

Or maybe the constant negativity has stopped and the budget emergency has miraculously disappeared.

My spending habits have not changed a jot because nothing has actually changed, but I am not so easily fooled as some.

I'm speaking from a totally personal view but it's based on my own business, discussions with reps about similar businesses in the area etc When the election was called we saw a big drop in turnover which wasn't great because she called it 6 months out. Sure the negativity didn't help at all but things are definitely picking up again but who knows if that's just local or Australia wide

Yeah, I'm starting to see the same thing in our businesses + getting the same feedback from friends in different fields.....nice change from the last barren 6 years.

Abbot and Hockey were selling a much worse position during the election campaign than the one they actually inherited.

Yet they've gone and created tens of billions worth of new expenses and given up revenue streams for ideological reasons. Which of course they will proceed to lie about and blame on Labor.

What "facts", pray tell, do you think will come to light that would have changed these things ?
