Re: Oz Federal Election 2013 - Discussion and Comments

best they be careful, lest they show us too much of the back room.

Re: Oz Federal Election 2013 - Discussion and Comments

But please shut up enough is enough

Re: Oz Federal Election 2013 - Discussion and Comments

Agree, he's been the cause of so many problems that Labor will rejoice this evening and the Liberal party will have one less target to aim at.

On Saturday I noticed the LNP doing roadside campaigning about a kilometre from Krudds office, I wonder if they knew?? Should be an interesting by election, at least I will go to the right booth this time since state and federal have different locales!

Yes, the euphoria of 2007 didn't last long. No surprise for anyone familiar with his performance under Goss.

Probably working out which travel rorts are just too damn hot to be leaked to the press.

Brings back memories of the election. The family were travelling to the country for a nieces engagement party that Saturday so many of us voted early or absentee.
The electoral office rep at Chatswood nicely told us of the difference between the LDP and Libs on the Senate paper. Probably why they didn't bother with anyone outside the office when their work was capably being handled inside. Another niece living in Manly thought it was strange how she was able to vote for Alexander in Bennelong instead of Abbott in Warringah.

Re: Oz Federal Election 2013 - Discussion and Comments

Like really??

You people are still whinging.

After accusing TA of having the longest dummy spit in history - you go and do the same??

At least last parliament was a hung parliament.

At least the last whinge thread (from close to the last election) was about the Carbon Tax.

You folks need to get over the election result (just as Libs did in 2007), and move on with your lives.

Come back to the next election thread in 2.5 yrs.

Can't believe I've wasted typing even replying.....

Why did you chop off Shorten in this photo? He's standing next to Abbott.

Biased much?

The rest of us had 6 years of you Liberal whingers and whiners complaining everyday...

So much for the Bishop and the liberals following the rules.

How much does a KRudd by-election cost?

Re: Oz Federal Election 2013 - Discussion and Comments

Morrison's failure to answer questions on asylum seekers either at his weekly press conference or in Question Time is problematic. Where is the accountability? How much longer would a Haneef or Cornelia Rowe saga take to resolve satisfactorily under this new system?

Re: Oz Federal Election 2013 - Discussion and Comments

Cheap at twice the price.

However, he is the PM who lost government at the last election and convention seems to be that there usually isn't too much fuss about them leaving given their situation. Of course, the last Liberal PM who faced this situation was Malcolm Fraser.

Re: Oz Federal Election 2013 - Discussion and Comments

What is going on!
I thought the ALP had a monopoly on it's long tradition of vilifying traitorous ALP rats a la Billy Hughes, Mal Colston etc etc.
Now the LNP is copying this fine tradition with it's own traitorous rat Big Clive Palmer. Qld Premier Newman says CP lobbied for preferential treatment; Good Lord,I have never heard before a businessman doing that!
CP's ex security guard says CP is arrogant, mean and shouts at staff; what a shock, a rich man doing that.

C'mon LNP. You can do better than that. The ALP is way more skilled at dealing with rats.

To complain about the cost of a bi election in the seat of a defeated leader is a little silly. Rudd was never going to sit on the back bench for three more years (a bit like Peter Costello before him, or Paul Keating before that). If the election had by some miracle been won by Labor the bi election would be in TA's seat. It's part of the cost of politics. Now the WA Senate bi-election. That'd be a real waste of money.

Given the almost non stop focus on asylum seekers in the last few years when in Opposition I think that Tony Abbott should have appointed a different person than Morrison to the Minister's role on winning Govt.
It would have meant a new start and a fresh approach to the issue by the Libs.
There is too much baggage to carry on in the same way.
