I walked about 2 km total yesterday with about 15 kg of bags in tow plus about 4 kg on my back whilst wearing steel capped boots - and if some posters here know Brisbane, we have hills!

I have found the perfect solution to not walking altogether - W Hotels' free Acura chauffeur service. Pity it's only one way. But it's fab - they were even keen to drive me 1 block. Now if only the W Sydney still exists...

Especially during a Chicago winter! No qualms using it for one block when it's -15degC outside!

Having said that though, I'm usually a walking man, as I find it's the best way to really explore a city. Last year in London I'd planned to spend a whole day walking around and exploring the place - about 20km I think I'd mapped out. Planned to get a decent night's sleep and leave at 7:30am...

..ended up getting home from some club at 7:45am. So a big breakfast, a shower, then straight back out again.

..after 20km I was a tad tired to say the least.

I thought this strange as it has been mentioned before, but as Bundy Bear confirmed notzac is a WP.

I can also get our work driver to organise a couple of cars to pick us up in style which between 6 would be little more than a cab fare - let me know sooner rater than later!!

Is this for the trip to MEL airport or from SYD airport?

A "cab fare" to MEL is an arm and a leg, but from SYD airport would be much more satisfactory.

Yeh... a fare to the Hilton is normally around $25, shared between 4 people in each car becomes very cheap!

Otherwise, if it is just a standard cab fare for all of us then I wouldn't care which leg of the trip is being offered - a $66 back-breaking cab fare to MEL airport is a lot more palatable when you have four in the car.

Pass! So far my total weekend cost has been $550 which includes PER-MEL, MEL-SYD, SYD-PER, a night at the Hilton and a night at The Westin; I'm seeing just how low I can keep the price, 'tis a bit of a game; am getting good value for money so far!

Otherwise, if it is just a standard cab fare for all of us then I wouldn't care which leg of the trip is being offered - a $66 back-breaking cab fare to MEL airport is a lot more palatable when you have four in the car.

My guess is normally it'd be about a $10 or so premium, so maybe $35 from SYD to The Hilton, for example.
