Walking directions from Hilton Sydney to The Westin Sydney
0.6 km – about 7 mins

QF009, you have no excuse to not move your own luggage between the Hilton and The Westin; I am not going to let you taxi such a short distance :p

Jenny and I are staying at the Hilton ... but hey - we get free breakfast ...

Thought I should make a refundable reservation; One of the Holiday Inns somewhere in Sydney, if a friend of mind is still living in Sydney in October then I probably stay with them.

Just saw an idea for Sydney is the Jetboat that runs out of Circular Quay, the other idea is the Seaplane but that looked expensive, both were on tonights "Random Acts Of Kindness" show on channel 9.

Still haven't booked any flights yet; still tossing up ideas; wanting to get on Brindabella Airlines J41 that flys between NTL-BNE but it seems you can't book it as one segment.

A Melbourne F lounge visit would be nice but I guess Flashware has got first tabs on that.

I could always just save the money and stay home. ;)

I thought about that too....after all, I do have a Euro trip later this year. :D

Just have to decide whether to go to MEL on Thursday evening and crash somewhere before FLounge run the next day, or get up nice and early for the Friday first morning flight to MEL (QF601 ).

Ditto !

All up on flights + hotel, I've spent $500 so not too bad.

Taxi's can be shared to / from the airport with QF009 as their flights are similar times, so transportation costs should be low

+1 for the Opera Bar, haven't been there and would like to.

Haven't been to either, but I'm a sucker for places that rekindle my memories of playing in the school symphony orchestra. :) Plus the view looks just magnificent.

+1 for the Opera Bar.

It does seem pricier there, but you have a better view. The Roof Bar just has a view of the skyline... hmm..:!:

Indeed a point in the Roof Bar's favour is that the prices look a bit better. Hence why I was leaning toward Opera, but not totally convinced :)

I like the sound of this:idea:

As a Sydneysider, paying extra (?significantly) just for an opera / harbour view...is a waste of money but I will go with the flow!
