Hi All,

Hope you can help. I just booked my first business class ticket from PER to SYD on 16/03/2016 on QF566. On the seatmap it shows 2 2 2. Is there anyway to find what aircraft this will be or if the new seating will be on this one? If not, is the old seating the MK1 skybed?

Cheers
nathan

2-2-2 is definitely not the new suite, which is 1-2-1. 2-2-2 could be Skybed 1 or it could be the older lounge chairs.

Hi jddc7

At this stage, it looks like it will be operated by either EBM or EBN, which have the business class seats without the workstation table in the middle block and where the PTVs are in the armrest. I am afraid it is not the mk1 Skybeds either.

Having said that, things can change as your flight is still far out so keep monitoring.

As others have mentioned 2-2-2 is not the new suite. However in saying that, plenty can happen between now and March of next year.

Reported on YSSY that VH-EBC will be the next (9th) 330-200 refurbed, scheduled to go to BNE on 13/11 and complete mid-December
This lines up with when VH-EBE is due back from SIN, freshly painted into QF livery (from JQ).
Will leave VH-EBD as the only Millenium J-seat/ipad aircraft and likely next candidate.

VH-EBQ has also been in BNE since 3/11 but believed to be mechanical check only.

SO is flying BNE/PER on Sun and seat map is showing old config where row 23 is the exit row. Wonder what rego that'll be?

EBQ back in service so no Refurb.

YSSY Board reports EBE back from paint 14/11 with EBC reportedly entering tomorrow after return from PER

Not sure if this has been mentioned previously but the QF site is showing separate seat maps for EBS and EBV. It appears that the only difference relates to the crew rests (EBS is 28J/237Y and EBV is 27J/239Y). I wonder if this provides any clues as to the routes these aircraft will operate.

AAAAARRRRGGGGHH! For the third time an a row, I have had a "new" format a/c replaced by an "old" one with less 48 hours before flight time, on an overnight flight which makes it so much worse. I wish that, if there were doubt about the a/c type to be used, they would show it as "old" to start with: a pleasant surprise is so much better that an unpleasant one!

about how QFi (albeit unrefurbished) VH-QPE has just come in from SYD to MEL as the late running QF405 and how it may be returning to the Harbour City on the 0900 hours flight - albeit a likely 25 minutes late in departing.

Is this unusual these days? Is it then going from SYD to MNL or CGK today, or SIN later tonight? (Monday 16 November 2015.)

Not at all impressed to find that QF is back to flying 737's on the BNE-Perth route. Ended up in one on Friday in a row of 3 with a giant of a man sitting in the middle seat. He did his best to minimise his impact, but it made for a really uncomfortable flight.

They have been doing this for some time. Isn't row 3 on a 737 Business class and therefore no Middle seat? Always pays to check aircraft type when selecting flights :D

QPE is a Refurb.
Pretty unusual to get a -300 on domestic these days

Canny man said a row of 3, which make me think he was in Y.

Thank you Moa999. Also there is no QF81 from SYD to SIN tonight, so please disregard that aspect of my comment. Apologies.

LOL! That is exactly why I prefer to use on departure upgrades - can't sub the plane if it's already at the gate!! And I guess I got lucky my plane never got subbed when I booked in advance. I have banked on having the refurb on the red eyes also but with recent flight bookings they were during the day so ... I wasn't going to risk non refurbs or subs and booked VA instead for more of the guarantee. I just didn't want to end up feeling like you do now. And you're right. Much worse on a red eye when you're relying on the shut eye with lie flat. Might be better to save money and fly economy during the day to avoid disappointment for a wee while until the chances improve. I'm also weary of subs or flights going to BNE.

It was indeed in Y in row 4. No shadow, but plenty middle seats free behind. I actually think it was right that QF gave the guy extra leg room as he was very tall too, it just made for a very uncomfortable flight
