"Well, what's so exciting about this game is the unpredictability. You see those 3 muppets running around with whistles, well they exist solely to gain attention to themselves. So if things are a little quiet or the game really good and we end up focusing on what the players are doing, those 3 will get their whistles out and start blowing all sorts of free kicks and random infringements and they'll focus on this one particular rule they decided to focus on tonight. It could be anything and turn the game in to a farce, but they never admit to that, it's just a co-incidence."

If you get a chance can you ask your American friend why on earth in gridiron they call it a touchdown when they don't actually have to ground the ball but simply run over the line carrying the ball.

It just doesn't seem right.

Nahh ... the real 'virtual' whistle holder farce was at the same venue last Friday ...

They don't even have to do that! Part of the ball merely needs to break an imaginary verticle 'plane' at the front of the 'line'.

FWIW, I don't see the game as being a picturesque advertisement - more gruntlike.

How big an up-gauge will QF need for the adl-mel flight(s)?

Extra flight put on again. GF Saturday there is a 744 doing a SYD-MEL run and an extra 767. Also extra 767 MEL-SYD on the Sunday.

Also another 744 MEL-SYD that Saturday night.

I imagine a certain serfty may be seated in the MCG stands somewhere feeling just a little nervous right now. ;) (at least he still has the opportunity to feel nervous, unlike some of us :( )

Damn, Crows lose by 5 pts to the Hawks. Impossible to call the GF next week between the Hawks and the Swans! I'm going for my second team now...the Swans:mrgreen:

But serfty will be a happy chappie
Hawks over South Melbourne next week

Posting from train on way home - bad kicking's bad football - and accruate kicking good football; Hawks creamed the Crows everywhere except for the scoreboard.

If it were an english football game the scoreline would have been 32 to 22 ... ;)

Now the crows are out, i feel it timely to jump onto the Swans bandwagon.

Have been in Dom Rep and USA for last 2 weeks and have virtually not logged into AFF in that time.

I did watch the Hawks / Crows match live whilst in Las Vegas on Sat night - was wondering to myself where that earlier poster went to who said this years finals series was going to be a bit of a yawn?

I did not find that game at all difficult to stay awake through - am tipping Saturdays encounter at the G could well be just as juicy.
