With the spread increasing and RAT tests being used more I am wondering what is the timeline from contact to positive RAT test and positive PCR?

For example if I went to lunch on Monday at 12 noon with someone who later turns up positive and that is the point of contact. When would my RAT be positive? When would the RAT be negative after someone tests positive and recovers? I know PCR captures shedding after recovery and it messes up your results even if you are negative.

But what is the point of anyone getting tested for no reason?

It's a total PITA over here at the moment. The usual suspects catastrophising like mad, but stuff-all of any consequence happening.

Certainly not having a shot at you.

They are obviously missing some - that has been the hallmark of Omicron world-wide.

However, the absence of any sign of an exponential increase but more tellingly, the absence of hospitalisations, indicates that very little of consequence is going on. Yet they harp on about more testing - under a pointless scenario.
