Australian state border restrictions

Just checking. They're doesn't appear to be any permit or on line documentation required for entry into QLD from a 'green zone' ( ie Tasmania, xMEL). Correct?

I have found the venue 'check-in app.
No permit required to enter Queensland (as they are only required when there's a declared hotspot), but anyone who had been in an exposure site is required to do hotel quarantine for 14 days on arrival from 1am tomorrow (Wednesday), or if you're already in QLD and were in one of the sites, you have to quarantine wherever you're staying/living for 14 days.

I assume like any other directive the authorities are relying on people telling the truth if asked if they were in an exposure site recently.

Yes, but if you used a credit/debit card but lied about being there they can find you out.

Beware, the pineapples are booked on a flight MCY to MEL on thurs so It's bound to go to cough this week. We have form😐

cheers skip
My lovely niece lives in Melbourne with her parents, siblings and other relatives living in Qld. She has now on three separate occasions had to do a short notice border run to get home to Vic whilst visiting family. She is booked for a road trip north in a couple of weeks, so I’m pretty sure that you are right and she will either have to cancel, or make a 4th border run. Getting a bit monotonous really.

Queensland border passes back on for arrivals from VIC. Whittlesea LGA has been declared a hotspot.

Whittlesea restrictions from 1am Wednesday 26th; Border passes for general Victorian arrivals from 1am Thursday 27th. Whew, I'm clear for tomorrow (so far)

Keep in mind the QLD restrictions are retrospective. If they were to declare all of VIC a hotspot while you are there you’d have to leave or go into hotel quarantine.

Yep. :( Tasmania does that too. How does Queensland handle airport transits? (ie I'm only transiting MEL, flying HBA-xMEL-BNE?) For instance, Victoria, as far as I can tell through their permit system, allows transits without getting 'contaminated' by a hot-spot.

That is generally the case unless an airport is declared a hot-spot itself, which the NT CHO did briefly for MEL in Feb(?) - around the time of the T4 cafe case/s

QLD didn’t allow transit in MEL during the main outbreak last year - but to my knowledge that was the only time an airport was included. SYD has always been allowed for transit.

They didn't allow transit for foreigners but a resident got back without need for testing or quarantine.namely me.Got off as I was outside the times.

I am booked MEL-CNS on Saturday. Definitely expect to be cancelling today or tomorrow. The seatmap has freed up dramatically overnight too...not sure how normal that is (on QF, no status) at this stage before departure.
