Australian state border restrictions

I am booked MEL-CNS on Saturday. Definitely expect to be cancelling today or tomorrow. The seatmap has freed up dramatically overnight too...not sure how normal that is (on QF, no status) at this stage before departure.
It's normal for it to open up a lot more at T-80 (80 hours before departure). It may open up even more once upgrades are processed and as it gets closer to T-24.

It appears that Vic is going to wait and see with existing restrictions today. As to whether other states see the need to put further restrictions on travel from Victoria today remains to be seen.

Landed at BNE on flight ex MEL. Met by police and everyone questioned as to recent travel. No probs for me. Everyone seems to have gone through OK.

Then, a pax in wheelchair, accompanied by husband appeared out of the air bridge almost last and got blithely wheeled through the police line without being troubled! 😳🙄

Are Queensland wheelchairs just for Queenslanders?

SA jumped up the borders but

yesterday. Unaccustomed as I am to breakfast with former workmates, I did go. The business owner mentioned he’d been at Collingwood v Port at the MCG on Sunday .... then came the announcement
Tier 3 - Monitor for symptoms Anyone who has visited this location during these times should monitor for symptoms - If symptoms develop, immediately get tested and isolate until you receive a negative result.

seems he’s carrying on as he was there today (I took a walk down the CBD to see for myself)

if only Charlie Dixon could smother COVID like he smothered the deep backline kick that made the difference with a goal!.....

Appears to be legit and have come from Steve Marshall's update and also directly mentioned by the SA CHO.

" South Australia will impose a hard border with Greater Melbourne from 6:00pm central standard time tonight. Only people exempted are essential travellers and returning South Australians, and they will need to quarantine for 14 days."

I suspect it’s only Chinese whispers and fake news but there was some chatter amongst AFP folk this arvo that possibly 60+ cases in Victoria today. I did tell them I don’t believe it but I guess we will wait and see
I think if it were that many it would have leaked out via the usual sources already.

I know some people who have moved flying plans forward to today to try to beat any closures.

I'm not planning to travel for about a month and hope that travel will be back to how it was a few days ago by then.

I just hope there isn't anyone that ends up in a helicopter being rushed to hospital tonight after a car accident at the border.

Let’s hope so but the SA police commissioner got off scotch free on the first one so far so doubt he cares.
