I saw that and wondered if mid Jan was a possibility to book some flights. But none scheduled anyway. Sad really.McGowan hinted the possibility of changes to that approach on Friday, saying the 5 February border change may be “redundant” if the state saw significant spread of the virus.
“It may well come forward because if we have community spread of the virus … it may well be that February 5 becomes redundant,” he said.

Not that it really matters but this is nothing new. He has said the same previously - basically that if Covid becomes entrenched before the border restrictions were due to be lifted then there would be little point in maintaining a hard opening date.“It may well come forward because if we have community spread of the virus … it may well be that February 5 becomes redundant,” he said.

I am safely across the border, so ,much relievedI was holding my breath in QLD when I saw the case announcements last couple days. But the new CHO is handling it well, he even seems to have calmed Anna down. No borders slamming shut! Very impressed!

Absolutely. Have a look a this stuff which Qld Health Minister was flogging big time today, with a straight face. Have a COVID preparedness plan and a COVID grab bag in case the omicrons attack. Nobody has ever told me to write up a plan about what to do if I have a heart attack, or a stroke. FFS.The covid-hysteria in Australia is reaching levels I don’t think anybody ever thought possible, but the public is still lapping it up.
Welcome, have a great time. You will find that the locals still regard fellow Australians as fellow Australians.I am safely across the border, so ,much relieved
Make sure you’ve packed your COVID grab bag before doing any of these things. As if people are going to get tested with some of those symptoms. I could get some of those from a late night, eating cheese, chilli, or drinking alcohol.

‘When does it end?’Insane! The question now really has to be “when does it end?”. The vaccination rate isn’t getting any higher, so are we honestly going to continue to behave this way indefinitely?
If Gladys was still in power Sydney would be shut down for sure now even at 94% DD...‘When does it end?’
When the first state premier continuing the ‘covid cases bad’ insanity loses an election...

Merry Christmas @jakeseven7 ! Had this post watched as requested…After watching him stumble through that mess, I’m now 100% they will be forced to open domestically pre-Xmas. Watch this space and mark this post.
At current trajectory and looking at their back of a sizzler restaurant napkin ‘plan’, they should open just after New Years and what miss Christmas by a few days? Not going to happen….
