OZ602 SYD - ICN

OZ235 ICN - ORD

1 award with 1hr 20 mins transit

Wow! This is something new! OZ must've tweaked their time. LAX used to be the only destination that you can book one award with OZ. Although NH will still be my preferred option. It's good to know there is a back up.

Nice redemption! Is it on SQ or TG?

What screen shots did you provide to show it was/wasn't available to book on line?

1st booking using the screen shot method:

SYD - CDG: TG F - 2 pax for next year.
230K in points plus $170USD (including booking fee) for both

Pretty stoked about this :) Was very painless but then again it was a very simple itin and "should" have been able to do this on-line. Now to work out how we want to come back :D

Very boring to most but as it will be my first experience in a premium cabin on a full service airline exciting for me.

Booked BKK-SYD in F for October.

Will have to keep an eye on it though as if something opens up early November (1-3) id probably jump on it and cancel the current booking just to give me a couple of more days ;)

I've changed this booking twice, each time extending my stay in Thailand, I'm now only in J on TG475 so the Red Eye flight which i prefer.

If i get any more urges to change i think i'll just give up on the points game and purchase full fare it may be cheaper haha!

Going to J is a huge backward step especially with TG J :( However, given that it will be your first premium experience, it's best to start off on acceptable and get a better flight each time, as once you travel many F's you will form an opinion that TG J is ordinary and any other J is slightly better than ordinary ;)

MEL-LHR x 2 in J with TG. 170k + US$176 via screen shot. Sent email yesterday PM & got call back today at 11.30am. Completely painless took about 10 mins all up. I had previously tried SYD-LHR with NH (direct on-line) but used the wrong CC and lost the booking which never came back. I might try the NH route on the way back, as it might almost be worth submitting to the the shambles of transiting SYD to experience their new 789 service.

KIX-BKK-SYD F for 1 person AUG16 via screenshot.

Very plainless, first phone call after 3 days, and they attempted about 8 times over the course of the weekend (missed call from florida number. I attempted to call back once). They connected with me on monday morning 0700, all done in 10 minutes.

We recently got tickets from SYD – BKK – KIX (Thai) using the screen shoot method. 1 x seat F and the other seat Business, hopefully the other first class seat will become available before we leave. There was first class from Syd to BKK but then from BKK to KIX there was only 1 seat. I didn’t need to have the screen shots for the second Bus seat. They called about 35 hours after I sent the email. It took about 1 hour on the phone to do both bookings. Harold was excellent and it was painless, he spoke excellent English.

We are flying back BKK – SYD (2 x first). Booked online

yes I thought that would probably be the case that is one of the reasons I bought the tix seperatly. Once I got the first class tix I asked him to then check if a second seat came up at the time of booking. I was being hopeful, but it didn't. I luckily won the coin toss and I got the first class tix and partner got the bus class seat :)

Yes. There was only ever 1 seat and some days had 0 seats. KIX had more first class seats. (even though it was 1 seat per flight)

So it seems like there is always only ever one TG F class seat available on the BKK-KIX and KIX-BKK legs?

I want to do the same trip as you in F class...SYD-BKK-KIX 2 pax return. Did you try many different dates?

I checked HND and NRT also but can only find J class inbetween BKK-KIX. Actually I did find one flight F class all the way through but it landed in Sydney at 20:30 which doesn't work for me.

EDIT: Sorry I probably should have posted this in the other thread.

From what I can gather - 1F is typical now for BKK-Japan flights. Something more may be released closer to departure, but not something I'd count on like I would have in previous years.

Thanks , You are right.

If I look only a few weeks out I can see 2 F seats available but if i look a few months out only 1.

A very simple one - 2 x J Sydney - Seoul (Incheon) - Sydney direct on Asiana. 80K + USD 1461. Around Easter next year, going to see my uni friend who lives in Seoul and see a bit of the country, I've only been to Seoul overnighting before

Nice, I know plenty pooh-pooh Asiana for their non Flat beds and not brilliant IFE but on a daytime flight I found the service, food and wine as good as I have had.
